In reply to Post #8 Cant comment on the others but been using 17lb(.32mm) X-line and really like it, first cast is bit coarse but once its wet and supple its actually quite nice to use, after being in the pond 12/14hrs its not to dissimilar to mono in feel. Pro's far outweigh the cons for me.

In reply to Post #1 I've been using ftx a couple of years.
For a fluoro its not bad, strong, not quite as springy... casts ok.
Its still fluoro though and will still kick you in the balls when you aren't looking with regards springing off the spool, the odd wind knot, catching on everything it can etc.... it is needing the occasional walk down the bank for an un-twist and stretch every few sessions.

In reply to Post #1 I've used both, but tbh I used Tiger Line a long time ago and whilst it didn't behave as I'd hoped, I was probably expecting too much from it as a lot of people were singing its praises as being a supple fluro that you could cast.
Used FTX for this year in the 16lb, it's done what I needed it to do, used it close in casting on my local lake, fair bit of snag fishing and it's been tough on hit and hold, with fish up to low 40's. Also used it recently in France, similar style of fishing but bait boated out to far margin with fish up to 59.
Having said that, is it worth the extra money over 20lb X Line, I'm not sure it is? I liked the colour of FTX and hoped it was a little less obtrusive than X Line, but when it's laid over weed or hanging off the rod tips etc, it still collects particles in the water and stands out like a sore thumb.
I'll keep going with it this year but when it's time to replace, I'll probably end up back on X Line just on a cost basis.

I like the FTX, can't comment on tiger line as I haven't used it. I've found the FTX casts better than other fluoros I've used in the past (x line). Not sure it's still worth the price tag over x line though tbh

Paid over £100 for Tiger Line. Was only on for a few months and i stripped it off. Found it horrendous and stuck X-line on instead.

Korda kontour I found decent .. I was an x line user for years ...
Not tried FTX but I like the fact it's not white like most fluoros

In reply to Post #1 Xline is better than both in my opinion
