Having experience with both I'd say it all depends on usage and the amount of agg you want - Jason Ms analogy is a good one . . .

Toslon TF520
Pros - V Quick start up / simple but effective sonar / signal reliability at range / does not require additional screens or tablets to manage or charge / can add Toslon XR310 GPS later on (Autopilot) if required

Cons - Single beam sonar / Portrait screen (narrow window of view) No mapping on TF520 model

Deeper
Pros - Multi-beam sonar / nice graphic interface / mapping on latest version / versatile; if not integrated can be used with rod & line

Cons - Poor/intermittent signal quality at relative range (even with a range extender) and not great in adverse conditions. Faff to charge separate elements (Deeper itself, if not integrated and running of battery & tablet & range extender etc)

Personally for bait boats I think Toslon is a good all-round reliable solution, especially if your going to use it regularly and on a variety of waters. . .Deeper by all accounts seems to be great in the 'dedicated' Deeper boats but as a bolt on is not great IMO (unless your using it at short ranges / on flat calm waters).

Hi, its not a massive lake will be fishing max 80 yards, but there are quite a few features which I think a sonar would help with. Didn't know if the deeper has better quality. Also if go down the deeper route which one to purchase.

Hi,

You don’t really describe much about the water you are fishing in terms of what you want to learn about the lake bottom and the range you will be sending it out.

Toslon
If you want something with its own screen, basic sonar capabilities, does not rely on apps very simple to use and capable of going over 100 yards with no connection issue then it’s for you.

Deeper
If you want something with very good sonar great for finding gravel bars and features etc with mapping capability, GPS for greater accuracy get the deeper

Hi, i am looking at getting a toslon tf520 fitted to my technicat bait boat, what's people's opinions on these? Are they a good echo sounded or would I be better off with something like a deeper? Thanks
