In reply to Post #6 There's still a good match scene round Cheshire too, they must be getting predated like crazy to throw in the towel...then again there are a lot of Cormorants round here, espesh with Rostherne being a nesting site.

In reply to Post #5 If that's the case I feel for those who do love the general coarse angling ..
In my humble opine, there is nothing more soulless and boring than carp only venues...but that's where the footfall and money seems to be ..

In reply to Post #4 Thanks for the response lads much appreciated
Looks like cudmore could be heading for a rebrand to solely specimen fishing and converting more lakes reading that it’s a shame I do enjoy pleasure fishing as well

In reply to Post #2 Very sad to just read this on the Cudmore site on FB
With heavy hearts, we would like to inform you that our day ticket coarse fishing lakes have closed in 2026. After 30 years of pleasure fishing, we feel that it is no longer financially viable to continue stocking and maintaining the large number of fish required into the pleasure lakes. We are incredibly proud to have hosted some of the biggest matches in the country and to have supported thousands of anglers over the years. We would like to sincerely thank everyone who has supported us throughout this journey - your loyalty, kindness, and encouragement have meant more to us than words can express.
While this chapter is coming to an end, our specimen carp and catfish lakes, Tara and Avoca, will continue as normal. This change allows us to focus our time, care, and investment into maintaining and improving these remaining lakes, ensuring a sustainable future and the high standards you expect from us.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of our story and for your continued support as we move forward.
