Out of interest, what are the benefits of black line over green, clear or Fluoro. Is it harder to see under water or something?

As recommended already "Ultima F1", I use it for sea fishing off the beach (apart for on a night when I cannot see it) as well as carp fishing. As it is a popular line for sea fishing, it is very tough and hard wearing but very soft and flexible
But, you have to use 18lb as the 15lb snaps easily for some unknown reason, unless they have improved it. But, the 18lb also has the same thickness as a normal 15lb line, 0.35mm and as it is 18lb, giving you more strength, it makes it ideal for snag fishing etc

In reply to Post #1 As RKB has said, Shimano Technium (it's called Grey). Looks black on the spool though. Lovely line, nice and thin. Some users have reported bad batches of it though, I've never had any though and I've probably had 10,000m of it over the years
