In reply to Post #1 I honestly don't think you can beat the Energiser head torches. I've three slightly different ones, all cheap and very reliable.

If you are using a head torch over the winter months I’d always suggest whatever batteries you put in it go rechargeable lithium.
They perform so much better than alkalines which are poor in the cold.

Not triple A battery but usb c rechargeable these headlights from decathlon are pretty solid. The great thing being that they start up on the red light then you can toggle to bright white beam when you wish .

I’ve got a Petzl Actik Core. It has a rechargeable battery but also takes AAA’s.
