Overrated IMO and far too much paranoia in terms of tangles (even using foam) hook position post being done/investigation etc . . .I used it for a bit with a split shot to overweight but soon found it no more efficient / arguably less efficient than a long hair and a piece of silicone on the bend of the hook . . .

Yeah does look to be abit of a tangler. I seem remember Damian Clarke having a lot of success on it too using maggots with it.

It was/is a great rig and I used it in the past to great success.

However i think on one of the old underwaters it was shown to be a sub optimal presentation due to the ability for the hair to wrap around the shank. after being picked up and done several times by fish.

Was thinking of trying a KD rig with some wafted tigers on my next trip.

My brother left me some tackle when he moved to Australia a few years back. I dug a rig case out just out of curiosity the other night and it was full of KD rigs. We used to use them all the time ! Not sure why I stopped really. Anybody use this rig nowadays ? Don’t see much written about it anymore with it only being 2 components 😂
