I use cheap backing and reverse off what i dont need on distance sticks. I bin this and then add the good stuff without wasting too much good line where it does not see the light of day!

Also count the handle turns so I can add line without the faff of reversing off line etc.

The stated capacity of the spool (by the manufacturer) is miles off though, hence this measurement tool. The downside with this is that I will only know how much line I need once I have emptied a spool and measured its dimensions.

You should be able to work on those spools by knowing the total capacity (in M) by line diameter (in mm) ?

As previously mentioned - calcline

It's android ONLY, and isn't found in the Google play store anymore.

You would need to install it from one of the APK mirror sites such as:-

I use this - https://www.omnicalculator.com/sports/fishing-reel-line-capacity

Usually best to back lines with a line of the same diameter to keep things simple . . .however you can ascertain different combos to back/fill spools efficiently with a bit of basic maths!
