In reply to Post #46 no problem mate.
To be completely transparent, I havent actually used the mesh yet so wouldnt really like comment at the moment.
In reply to Post #44 I guess with it being only 2 ribs on the ground at the back (like the old Nash profile), it keeps the whole thing more compact & lighter, the trade off being less stability in wind. Not that that should matter if pegged with poles.

In reply to Post #35 Hello Tim. Appreciate the photos. How do you find the mosquito mesh arrangement?

In reply to Post #41 That’s ridiculously light has to be the lightest on the market now?

The text on ESP facebook:
NEW!! ESP QUICKDRAW BROLLY & MOZZY DRAPE 52” & 58”!!
In shops from late July!!
🎥 Film next week
RRP (including Mozzy Drape) 52” £189.95, 58” £199.95
The new Quickdraw brollys are quick to set up & provide ample coverage for bedchair & kit while providing excellent visibility for observing the water.
They are available in two sizes 52” & 58” & include:
✅Unique design Mozzy Drape
✅Mini detachable groundsheet
✅4 lightweight storm poles
✅8 ‘T’ pegs
✅Outer bag, roomy enough to make packing away easy
The brolly’s feature a dark olive green 210d cover with 5,000mm hydrostatic head. The inner surface has a lightproof laminate. The frame is made from strong & sturdy 8.5mm fibreglass ribs & features a space saver locking mechanism to maximise headroom even when the brolly is set low.
Three pegging points on the storm sides allow for height adjustment.
5️⃣2️⃣ The 52” brolly is aimed at the angler who prefers a compact shelter & accommodates bedchairs up to 2m in length. Although diminutive, this brolly still provides excellent coverage with plenty of room in front of the bedchair when it is pushed to the back of the brolly.
🦟⛔️The Mozzy Drape is of a unique design. It attaches to the front of the brolly using toggles & is then pegged at each side. The elastic cord running the length of the mesh can be tightened so it is a snug fit around the brolly & the fine mesh simply hangs down with the aid of small weights located around the bottom edge. The drape provides protection from biting insects but is easy to enter & exit simply by lifting the mesh & then dropping it down behind you. This means that there are no zips or magnets that remain open after a hasty exit, so no mozzy’s can simply fly inside the brolly. The Drapes both weigh under 1kg & are supplied in a handy draw string bag.
5️⃣8️⃣ The 58” brolly is 12”wider than the 52” with longer front ribs allowing for longer and wider bedchairs to be easily accommodated. Just like the 52” it is supplied with a Mozzy Drape, mini groundsheet, 4 storm poles, 8 pegs & the outer bag
52” total weight (brolly, mozzy drape, mini groundsheet, 4 storm poles, 8 pegs & outer bag) 5.0kg. Brolly on its own 3.70kg, Mozzy Drape 900g. Packdown length 52” (132cm)
58” total weight (brolly, mozzy drape, mini groundsheet, 4 storm poles, 8 pegs & outer bag) 5.3kg. Brolly on its own 3.90kg, Mozzy Drape 970g. Packdown length 58” (147cm)

In reply to Post #33 Hello mate,
I've the Solar Sleep-tec, so it is on the slightly high side.
I just know from similar spec brollies there is not a chance of me sitting in a chair seeing anything. I dont mind a bit of floor sitting, but in winter its not the one.
A real shame as like everyone else in the thread, I'm happy to buy pretty much most things ESP do.
Cheers.

In reply to Post #37 I know how you feel - it happens to me almost every time ESP releases a new product. Perhaps I should attend a meeting in Tackle Horders Anonymous.
And by the way those new brollies look good.

Don’t really need one but it’ll be difficult not impulsively clicking confirm and pay at some point. It’s inevitable

In reply to Post #35 Blonde Tim, are you posh Tim, the panther?
If so WhatsApp them over to me mate & I'll post them.
In reply to Post #33 There are 3 pegging points, i now use mine on just the lowest setting.
Admittedly i'm only 5.9/5.10, but can it on my duralite bed straight up on the lowest setting, no hunching over at all.
I'll try and get some photos up if i have time or happy to Whats app them to someone more savvy

In reply to Post #32 200 hundred notes for the 58 for four poles and the mesh. Ain't knocking the arse out of it, is it. Well in ESP.

In reply to Post #31 Is your bed bespoke? If the chair fits your fit.. sitting might be a problem. Chair or mat on the floor seems like the only option.

Looks great, and a fair price. I wonder if the new scope brolly will be a sensible price now this is out.

In reply to Post #29 Thank you for the link, looks lovely - I'm 6ft 6 so no chance I'll be getting one.

ESP have released details of these new brollies on there social media feeds if interested.
Looks like the rebirth of the brolly as a shelter. I see Nash and Fox are bringing the brolly back to market as well. Can't beet fishing under a ribbed brolly. Trakker should be done under the trade description act for calling there shelters brolly with out a rib insight.

In reply to Post #26 Foam and spare cover. Obviously had the deluxe model..

In reply to Post #24 That’s good I better go and get my foam and spare cover ready

In reply to Post #14 Sorry, havent been on here much - no pics at the moment (will ask if thats ok).
I'll check weights but I use mine (58") just with two short poles, and then 4 pegs and feels very lightweight. I use it on the lowest settling and still gives loads of coverage for a 'normal' bedchair @(duralite in my case) with rucksack behind, cool bag by head and brew kit on a bucket next to me.

In reply to Post #23 Will ESP be releasing an updated version of the old Argos sunlougers to go with this old school vibe do you know?
This was a reply from Dave regarding the brollies from a brief exchange of messages this week.
Will be in shops from mid July. Total weight including mozzy mesh (which comes with it), 4 storm poles, mini groundsheet, 8 pegs and bag is 5kg.
Brolly on its own is 3.7kg (used ultra strong 8.5mm ribs which adds a bit of weight but makes it proper solid) and in most situations you only need 2 storm poles 👍
The 52 inch gives a nice old school
Vibe

In reply to Post #20 Did anyone notice the little o rings on the two top ribs. I can only think it’s a way of attaching a mozzi front. Looking forward to seeing one in the flesh.

In reply to Post #20 Dave Ellyat ( ESP ) posted on his Instagram stories they dissappear after a while.. keep an eye on there Socials. No doubt a few more pics reels and stories will be posted in due course..

In reply to Post #16 Just seen it looks a bit like the old school 50 inch Wavelocks with sown in sides.

In reply to Post #16 Link please.. 🙂

In reply to Post #15 Dave Elyatt put an image of the 52 on Instagram story
Looks lovely & yes does have sides
In reply to Post #12 Thanks for that Tim.. I'm assuming they both have sides??
In reply to Post #12 Can you not put a pic up or is that a no no atm??
In reply to Post #12 Do you know how much they weigh and the pack down length?
In reply to Post #1 I’m lucky enough to have one, so a few points that might help.
52&58 inch versions (I have the larger).
Smal up size is very compact. Only the back two ribs touch the ground so there aren’t two longer poles sticking up on pack down. Doesn’t seem to affect stability.
The grounds been too hard to get the storm rods in very far, so have just pegged the sides then brace the storm rods against that and it’s been great. Last night in it was on the end of a SW setup front on, on a 60 acre pit.
Movie mesh is removable with quite a new attachment type.
Really lightweight and easy to erect (being a brolly obviously), even though the material is tick/laminated type.
Any questions happy to answer.

In reply to Post #10 Ahh, I see
In reply to Post #9 The picture they put out was just of the label, rather than the actual brolly
In reply to Post #1 Have you seen pics of these?
In reply to Post #5 I really like the magnetic one on my Aqua Ultralite. Works brilliantly.
In reply to Post #5 I have to agree. I've been so disappointed with these on my Solar bivvy, great in theory but not in practice
In reply to Post #5 Not had an issue myself, better than faffing with zips.
In reply to Post #4 Them magnetic mozzi fronts are *****,unless you're on completely flat ground
In reply to Post #3 Would be nice to see a quality brolly with a decent optional fitted mozzi mesh (ideally magnetic style), doesn’t need vents or any of that malarkey.
In reply to Post #2 Your right nothing says Carp fishing to me more than sitting under a brolly. Be interesting to see what they come up with.
In reply to Post #1 I’m an all year brolly fan, and used scope brollys since day 1. I’ve got two recons and then one of the black ops with the folding ribs. It’s good in concept but nowhere near as solid as a normal brolly, so hoping these aren’t folding ribs. Be nice to see some new brollys on the market as everyone seems to be all about bivvys these days.
I see from recent Socials that ESP are releasing two new brollies under the quickdraw banner. Any one privvy to the diffrence between these and the Lo Pro brolly. I'm thinking some sort of bi fold spoke system to reduce pack down size maybe??
