Drennan Specialist 40l is comfy for long hikes . . . sternum strap helps and I use it for mobile barbel fishing . . .being able to clip on roll up quick draw mat and strap waterproofs / jacket to top section is also handy . . . ESP version is similar with loops for banksticks etc which Drennan does not have. . .

Thinking anglers rucksack was the most uncomfortable rucksack i’ve had. Those internal pockets also just take up excess space.

Just sits high up due to the "squat" shape, so all the weight is on your shoulders and not through a hip strap like a proper rucksack for hiking. Looking at the shape, I doubt the korda one is any different.
I have the TA one (mk2) and like it, the shape makes it practical to use, as opposed to traditional "deep" rucksacks where you have to get everything out to get to whatever might be in the bottom. The other solution to this is obviously to have an opening lengthways like some do, the "ruckall" type, maybe try and find one like this if you have a long walk, but if carrying comfort is the no.1 priority youre probably best looking at army or hiking brands.

I've had the Korda one for just over a year - great bit of kit, the 30L size makes sure that you're not taking a load of stuff that you don't need, I've found it comfortable to use (on some long walks too) I cant really see a downside to it, it fits the Korda tackle box etc., extremely well, it's a well thought out piece of kit... I'd give it 9/10 only because they don't do it in the olive colour, but that's probably just me.

Dutch army day pack. You can get additional pouches to fix on the front.
Very comfortable and around 30 quid. No need for a fishing brand.

Has anyone here tried the sonik xtractor rucksack?
I liked the look of the extra front storage, but no idea if it's a good rucksack in practice

Actually just found the caravan carpers review on Youtube for this stuff. Seems like loads of people have had issues (just by the comments) of the bags sucking up water and it being damp on the inside.

I have had the TA for about 2 years, comfortable and easy length of room, only negative if the pockets in the main compartment don’t seem to fit anything and are mostly redundant

Always used ex British Army gear, day pack for a small bag like you need and a Bergen when carrying a big load. Being for army use they are tried and tested for long term comfort when wearing all day, so more than enough for fishing.
Bought both about 10 years ago used and will probably outlast me.

I have the Saber copy of the TA one.
I think it’s great - small and comfortable.
I mostly use it for mobile river fishing. I bought a bigger ESP one but never use it.

I have the ESP rucksack, lovely but a little small and does not sit well on my back - I am 6ft 6 though.
Looked at the TA one, nice design, bag not for me though.
Tried the carp life one and everything very well laid out and bag sits very comfortably. It is not as small as the TA one though.

I’ve had 2 mk 1 mk2 and camo ta rucksacks they are uncomfortable the side straps dig in and the sternum strap is to high can end up at your throat I’ve spoke to ta years ago that the harness needs redesigned I now have the Korda 30lt it’s a bit more comfortable but I was disappointed in the cut backs Korda have made no padding on pockets and no sternum strap
The zips are good and the design is ok tbh what you need is a mixture of both
If you want a comfortable rucksack the drennan specialist takes some beating

I've just done a similar switch but with Trakker Scout rucksack. 2 trips done so far and initial view is the rucksack is great, but that shape isn't the most comfortable to actually carry. It sits so high on your back and straps short. I'd imagine the ones you're looking at are similar.
I wonder if a slightly larger one might actually be more comfortable? I'm going to try and find a shop where I can put a couple on to try.

Some great feedback! When you say uncomfortable, are we talking painful or awkward? Like strap can't in or just doesn't sit right?

I also found the TA sack uncomfortable for long walks. To be fair it is well made and designed, but after a few minutes it becomes uncomfortable.

Have both. Both are great tbh you get a little more room in the TA one though with the additional pocket on top and you can add the little extra side pouches too if needed. Id go for the TA one out of the two

I've got the Thinking Anglers one and I really like it. It's small which made me cut down on my gear. Others have struggled with where it sits on your back but I've not had a problem. Not used the Korda one but I reckon either will be good mate.

I am currently looking at moving way from a traditional barrow bag and moving to a more compact rucksack. I have been looking at the Korda 30l Dark Camo and the Thinking Anglers Rucksack. To be honest I am struggling to decide, any user feedback for either would be much appreciated.
