Not fished Abu Dhabi but I have fished offshore in Dubai I caught some smaller fish and a handful of small barracuda in an afternoons fishing.

If you go and it's for quite some time, I'm due back again at some point and we always do a fishing charter when I'm there so happy to invite you out if dates etc all line up, although it would be Fujairah or mussandam probably, maybe muscat, I’ve not done that for years.

Either way, if you go, enjoy

I've fished there quite a lot, all from a boat and it can be very good sport and eating.

We used to troll a couple of rods with diving planes and pick up things like king and queen fish, hamour, cobia and once had a ray. We'd normally troll until finding a bust up and then switched to light lure rods. We regularly filled the fridge and freezer with dinners.

There is a fairly big port on the coast with a dug out shipping lane running into it, we caught a few fish running up and down that trolling and on dropped feathers / sabiki type strings.

If you can go way offshore, there is an oil rig that may be worth looking at although has a big out of bounds section, I'm not sure if any good as my mate never wanted to risk his boat that far due to niggles.

We never fished the creeks but should be some fun in a small boat

If you are there for some time, get across to Fujairah which is about 2.5 hour drive from Abu but much better boat fishing. We've had tons of mahi mahi there, lost some sails, seen a massive marlin and caught various other fish.

Weekend trip to Muscat more great fishing, we had well over 100 small tuna, a few big mahi and another lost sail.

Mussandam also worth a visit for fishing, we've had a lot of GTs there, biggest was around 50kg

Looks like I have the chance of going here for a bit.

Has anyone fished out there off the shore or boat? Web searches hasn't really thrown anything up so any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated 👍.
