In reply to Post #7 I was thinking along the same lines re scratching but a bit of moisture normally makes it disappear for a while. Jeffire would know.
Edit, it's odd markings though, I'd expect it to be uniform if a rub mark, looks more like a varnish or bond reaction to something put on it...hmm

Good point mate,I will get it out and have a good look. I have a second rod a bit like this as well, I am wondering now if it is running where the previous owner mst have forced them open a bit tight perhaps. Will have a look and post what I can figure out

Just looked at the video, is that butt retracted at that point or extended?
Just wondering if that's where the outer rubs the inner when retracted
or
if you lay the tip section down alongside the butt section if a ring seat sits against the mark and it's where it's rubbed?

In reply to Post #4 No worries mate
If you wet the area does the paleness go away? I wondering if it's scratched.

In reply to Post #1 Send me a pic lor link via pm and I'll post it up
Edit, you need to upload the pic to somewhere ( I use Imgbb, its free) with the largest dimension 400 pixels.
Then you need to copy the link that says 'full html linked' and paste it in your post, that will show the pic on here.

Hi all,
Any idea what this is? It reminds me of the condensation you would get under the lacquer on an original NG, but these don’t appear to really be lacquered and they haven’t been used yet.
I am seen unable to upload a photo, any help
With this would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers
