With the baitboat i referred to you could just use the other side hopper for rig and bait so you have a closer bait patch. In that specific application was using boilie in the spinning hopper and then pellet and boilie in the other boat hopper with rig.

I do like the look of these and the concept of spreading the bait about rather than having a big bed of bait in a tiny area

But I totally agree with the comment below ..they are way to expensive for my liking and something like £50 to £70 would be more appropriate and I’m sure they would sell a hell of a lot more units if priced sensibly 😄

I thought it was a ‘wind up’ when I first saw one - boom boom

They are a rip off, just a food mixer upside down
You can buy a whole baitboat for the price
They shouldn’t cost any more than £50.
You can get the funnel 3D printed go on a website like yeggi for details.

If you want to spread bait about in your swim use a catapult or spod.

Sure OMC have one in the works 😀

This is something I'm looking into designing and have a few ideas such as variable gearing to change the distance of the spread but its something I havent got around to yet and I also need to investigate patents and such as I believe the WUBS system has some kind of patent.

Dont they spray the bait a bit far out instead of a smaller area?

Yes, but your making the assumption a spod can be used, or that a person wants to even use one. I go fishing to relax, I find doing or watching spodding less than relaxing though I'm quite capable of it.

I was going to make one using a Mousetrap to throw the bait upwards which would be held inside a plastic tub sat on top of the mousetrap. Too activate it, I would just release the hopper which would have a lead in it attached to some line etc which would be fastened to the catch on the mouse trap and would then set the mouse trap off. Alternatively I would attach the lead to the hook release mechanism at the back of the boat.

But, I never got round to it as I did not fancy a lead dangling a few inches below the boat in case it got snagged in weed and never gave it much thought to what else I could use. It did cross my mind to just fit an arm to the mousetrap that was connected to the mousetrap and rested on the hopper door and acted like a lever.

I have seen one up close on a ND2 bait boat and it was a cracking piece of kit tbh,

The one i saw had a wind up mechanism in it, so you basically wound it up to store the energy in the spreader hopper then placed the entire unit into one of you hoppers on the bait boat with the door closed. Then add bait. Once you got it out to your spot just opened your hopper door as normal and it would spin and spread the bait out.

Seeing a few different companies bringing out bait spreaders and the prices are astronomical. Has anyone tried making one at home? If yes, any tips on how to DIY
