In reply to Post #1 From research I have done - it doesn't really matter from a fishing perspective what time of year you go.
All Tackle is generally provided, what you take is more what you want to personalise with.
Gillhams has a incredible stock and stunning facilities, the only negative for me is that there is no draw system, you can end up in a swim for the majority of your stay and not have a chance to move to a peg which has better form for you chosen target fish.
Due to above i have chosen Jurassic Lake and am going in April

In reply to Post #1 Depends on what you're planning on doing and what weather you want, rainy season is May to October and very humid.
It's also quite a way away from any tourist areas.
I'm looking at exotic Fishing Thailand as I'm off to Khao Lak for 10 days in April, far enough away from the likes of Phuket which isn't my bag and far less touristy.
Place I'm looking at will collect and return you to your hotel or I believe you can stay there.

Lots of You Tube vids on it. I have done a few myself over the last few years.

In reply to Post #1 Get yourself a copy of Spugs latest book, Carping Mad 5. Loads about his time working at Gilhams in there. Not been myself but definitely somewhere on the to visit list, despite the cost which appears to be astronomical

Has anyone been to Gilliam’s before? If so any recommendations on times of year to book and what to take?
