So sorry to hear this my condolences to you and your family, I lost my oldest sister 15 years ago on new years eve after secondary cancer and a ten year battle she was 46, it finished any new years celebrations for me from that day on.

So sorry to hear that Mitch, my condolences and thoughts are with you and yours.

Re celebrating Xmas, I'm sure your sister would be as annoyed with you as my mother would be with me. My mum died on my 17th birthday, 34 years later I still feel totally hollow on that day, annoyed with myself even, as I imagine it was one of the happiest days of her life. I hope it might be different for you.

Welcome mate and I can only imagine what you’re going through.

Hope that the brighter days arrive shortly where the times you had together bring a smile or two.

Once again, so sorry for your loss.

RIP to your sister.

Xx

Thank you all for hour kind words.
Yes I'm finding it very tough at the moment and really struggling. She was a massive part of my life and things will never be the same.
I need to stay strong for my mum, my kids and my partner.

For me Christmas is finished I never want to celebrate it again, until I become a grandparent then maybe the magic may return.

so sorry to hear this M1tch

I can't imagine what you are going through right now but you have my deepest sympathies. Nothing prepares you for the loss of a loved one & the pain can be unbearable - it never goes away but you become more used to dealing with it. it sounds tough but try & concentrate on the memories of the good times when you start missing her. keep them strong in you mind.

take care mate.

Christmas is supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year. Unfortunately for me I got a text Christmas Day from my brother in law that said paramedics are trying to re start my sisters heart.
She suffered from chrons disease for many years and she had a bad flare up which caused a massive bowel blockage which stopped her heart through complications.
Paramedics tried for 45 minutes trying to save her but it was to late.
My beautiful sister, best friend and soul mate sadly passed away Christmas day at the age of 49.
I am truly heart broken, distraught and just can't come to terms with it all.
