I had the same with my RT7. Cost me fair bit more than £4500 too lol. Went back 5 times in 7 uses over a year to the point I had enough and threatened legal action. They replaced my boat with new and gave me a full 3 year warranty on top with some extra goodies. Will say this the new boat is absolutely spot on. Not one fault since I received it 7 months ago and carplounge have done a lot of updates lately with the software making it fantastic bit of kit. (The boat cutting out etc you mention Karlos was all to do with a faulty software update). The GPS is now much more accurate to a point I am hitting h blocks placed with big boat 9/10 times at 300y+ with it never being more then 2ft away. The new anchor system works really well keeping your boat stationed on the spot to use a camera, placing bait etc manually it really is a pleasure to use (Hope they never update the software again). Carplounge customer service was always quick to come back to me also.

That being said hard to recommend anyone buying considering the issue I and many others have had especially for the money spent. I think myself and many others were field testers for them as they changed the lid design for a better seal due to water intake and changed their sealing process for faulty hopper hinges etc since the early release. Their quality control clearly left the chat when they couldnt keep up with demand of orders.

I would say this. When it works though nothing comes close to being as good. It spoils you so much to the point where every other boat seems rubbish. I bought the all dancing Xboat with X310 and dragonfly whilst my RT7 was in the shop and absolutely hated it. It was reliable though

That is disappointing to hear that for that price it does not do what you want and need it to do.

My initial problems with the ND2 were down to a poor choice of tablet, once swapped to a Samsung it's been plain sailing.

The RT7 does look impressive but they can be a bit crap for reliability

Fishing at Swan Valley my mates boat wouldn't steer after dropping the bait and so he had to climb in amongst the snags to retrieve it.
The next day we recounted the story to the guy fishing the other side of me. He had an RT7 and his leaked (from new) so he sent it off for repair and it came back and was still leaking. Not what you really want a boat to do, especially for £4500+
Also not handy when its brand new and you got to France for your weeks holiday before finding out! Poor bloke!

Another instance, at Holme Fen Sept 2024 and another mates RT7 decided not to respond. Battery and spare battery ran flat. They were both well charged when he sent it out!?
I had to strip down to pants and go fetch it. Nasty for everyone involved!

I'd love an RT7 with all the bells and whistles (being a technical / geeky type of person) but I can't risk that kind of money. I have an ND2 with latest Chirp Deeper hanging off the back. I joke and say it's 'deposable' but at least if something did go wrong I could afford to replace it the same month, not have to take out mortgage.

What's the sonar like on the sailvvay ? Doesn't give much info on the website other than it's dual beam but noticed the quest is triple beam so does that mean the quest has better readings?

I have had the sailvvay c series for 18months. Great bit of kit, all features work straight from the box. Had an issue with a hopper door they collected and redelivered very promptly. I've had several boats in the past and ranging from wave runners and microcats. The c series is heads above them all. Used it on 100 acre plus pits in horrific conditions and it was untouchable.

I’ve recently bought the quest, and what a piece of kit it is (I’ve been towing a chirp around prior).
I love it, fantastic battery life, easy to use. The only issue I’ve come across (and a friend with one) on one lake we were both fishing due to poor gps, the navigation to set points was way off (always worked fine on other lakes), so required manually steering to the exact point whist viewing the phone to make sure I was on the spot (just off a weed bed)
