In reply to Post #4 I have bought a 5kilo bag of the soldier fly and blended them up and added it to the insect meal from dna(obviously their version is milled a lot better than a good processer)added some bug liquid and used it as ground bait had 2 small ones under 10lb from my public lake at beginning of may.
You can buy them in £1 bags or bigger from pound stretchers I use it to baulk out my pre baiting mixes

In reply to Post #2 Yep, used in up and down mixes. Can't see why they'd be crap DNA bug is based on Soldier worm from memory and iirc that's available powdered.
I think canalcarper has incorporated them into his stick mix, hopefully he'll see this and add his thoughts.

Crap bait from what I've heard. Never tried them myself, they sink when soaked I believe, but apparently, forwhatever reason, just just don't work well. Which is odd, as you would think they would.

In reply to Post #1 I'm pretty sure that dried meal worms float in water. Not 100% about if they do or not when crushed tbh.

It's Wednesday, and every week down the road on which my office is situated, there is a market.
This morning driving in, i saw a stall which had a load of pet and bird feed on it. On that stall, it looked like bags of dried mealworms....
I thought maybe this is something that could be added to my solid bags. Only concern is whether or not they float....
Has anyone one here used them before?
Thanks,
