Active Bait Solutions (ABS) Malarkey. Quality bait from a quality bait firm.👍

My go to boilies are those I make myself because I don't use massive quantities and I can get something that I think is highly satisfactory for £4-5 a kilo. If I had to use boilies from a company (I've used a few) then I would just pick a name out of a hat as I don't really think it matters much at all. Personally, I think the majority of people's opinions on the success of individual baits they have tried are heavily skewed as a result of short-term application. Often you see people quote that they tried X bait and caught 10 carp in 5 minutes from a lake with 3 fish in 400 acres after blanking for 12 years. There's many variables I would attribute this success to before considering the bait. Let's face it, the vast majority of these boilies will all catch carp if you accidentally pub chuck them in the right place.

In reply to Post #39 various baits from there mate. Main ones ive been consistently for 16 years using are
Fruit frenzy
RNR
TnM
SV1 and SV2
Peanut spice
PRB
In the past ive used
SBS - used to buy all the bits n bobs and roll them
Premier baits - as above
Mainline - started off with grange, then milky toffee (my fav of theirs) then went onto active 8 (done well on that) used the Fusion, then discovered Poachers whilst i was at Les Quis as some bloke was smashing it, so moved to poachers and been their ever since.
Been using TC's hookbaits lately, really impressed.
Ive also been lucky to have some of Carp Chronicles pop up, not used them as yet, but will.

In reply to Post #1 I have used various bait companies over the years, tested for some, (test, not just got a deal), so obviously I have to say the bait I'm on, Rod Hutchinson Infusion and KMG.

In reply to Post #41 Just a heads up, a firm named "Galaxy Baits" makes your fish seed and skunk mix I believe, under the guise "galaxsea oil" but I could be wrong, they claim it is anyway. - Popped up on my facebook feed of adverts today ironically ( or a group post can't remember ) and the name skunk reminded me of your post!
In an ideal world it would be marine and seed mix with skunk and black pepper oil , but life ain't ideal but if I had to say 1 it would be tigers , thay catch more than we will ever know, boillie a bit of this and that

In reply to Post #39 No, just a really really really tough pop up 😂

In reply to Post #35 Scalded krill pellet and red maggot… deadly
In reply to Post #1 Bait is a strange one because when I used to fish the itchen for the carp I caught almost all my fish on anything soaked in krill liquid, so dynamite tiger boilies soaked in krill - caught,a piece of squid in arma mesh -caught among other boilies/bait I tried, all caught when soaked in krill liquids, yet tried the old nash squid powder never had a bite.
I even had a 22lb pike on a boilie soaked in krill from the itchen as well it was hooked right in the mouth they must have liked fish meal baits more than any others and with it being close to the sea(Solent) it is a possible theory

In reply to Post #29 Any bait can catch you fish. A better quality bait will catch you more
In reply to Post #28 i sort of agree with you but i also believe that if the fish see to much of one bait it can also make them more weary of feeding on the so called best bait .so useing something different can and often will catch that fish that the previous angler that has spent a shed load of money to catch has wasted there money only for some angler who has spent a fraction on bait to catch there prize specimen ive seen this happen that many times over my years,
In reply to Post #27 Any bait will catch you a fish. But a decent bait will get the carp actively searching for it. making a so called campaign lake have better long term results.
In reply to Post #17 not all i caught on some very tricky waters last year on it just some fisherman think if you use the so called best bait out there they are the ones that catch the best fish this is not the case for me its timeing and location and how you prepare yourself for the venue ,if anglers want to be drawn into that you need to be useing this bait and that bait then so be it .

DNA SLK / S7 or Baitworks AH / RM……
Cc Moore for me .. live system and PT .. and the fantastic northern special .
I only speak as I find and I’ve caught plenty of fish on them so my confidence is obviously in the bait .
Expensive and I’m absolutely clueless on the ingredients fashions but I like them .

In reply to Post #18 I get that

In reply to Post #21 Ccmoore were my go to for a long time but once they stopped making the equinox, i just couldn't get on with any of their other baits. Did a few seasons on DNA and a blip with mad baits before settling where i am

In reply to Post #1 I've been a long time fan of CC Moore and I think I will always see it as a quality bait, but this year for the first time in 6 or 7 years I flipped to Baitworks, Atlantic Heat and Royal Marine. They had a 15% deal on in March and I picked up 60kg with 10kg going to a mate which worked out under £6 per kg, happy days.
First time out this year over the May bank holiday just gone on what I would describe as a very difficult water and I managed a new PB mirror on Atlantic Heat.
Although still early in my trialling of this bait, I can see me sticking with Baitworks for the foreseeable future.

In reply to Post #19 Yeah no doubt, but ive been on it for 5 years and from what i can gather so far, the bait is making a difference

In reply to Post #18 Assuming it’s the same lake then surely you’re catching more as you learn more about the lake and it’s habits.

In reply to Post #3 I used DNA the year before last and had 7 fish on it which is fairly good going. Made the switch to handcraft and had 12 last year and 4 already this year
Unless you use huge amounts try not to skrimp too much. Hamdcraft for instance are not a cheap bait but for for what you get, my experience has been superb
I spend a lot on tickets, rods, reels etc. seems silly to skrimp on what is arguably the most important bit
In reply to Post #14 Does look a cheap made bait. Be fine for the anglers who fish runs lakes or has no interest in bait.
In reply to Post #15 Use to be on mainline cell exclusively. Took a chance on DNA baits a month or so ago and been doing really well on it. As others been on the bug very good bait at less then half the price of mainline.
Certainly will be continuing using DNA going forward

In reply to Post #14 No need to SHOUT fella lol

NOPE NOT AT ALL I DONT EVEN KNOW HIM EXCEPT THROUGH EBAY
AS FOR QUALITY I NEVER SAID IT WAS QUALITY I REPLIED TO THE GUY WHO POSTED ON HERE ASKING AND SAYING HOW EXPENSIVE BAIT WAS NOW SO THOUGHT HE MIGHT BE INTERSTED IN TRYING THIS GUYS BAIT NOT EVERY ANGLER IS LOOKING FOR THIS SO CALLED TOP QUALITY BAITS YOU SEE, ALL THERE INTERESTED IN IS CATCHING FISH FULL STOP
In reply to Post #11 The cheap price kinda proves it's far from brilliant. Once profit ,postage and eBay fees are deducted the cost to produce this bait is pennies, and you just can't make good quality baits for pennies. You can make something that will catch fish ,but good quality it ain't

In reply to Post #10 I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOUR SAYING ,IF I HADNT BROUGHT THIS GUYS BAIT AND TESTED IT THEN I WOULDNT SAY IT WAS GOOD IF IT WASNT AND REGARDS TO HIS POSTAGE ITS ONE OF THE BEST I USED HIS BAITS ALL LAST YEAR AND CAUGHT VERY WELL ON IT AND I WENT TO A FEW DIFFERANT VENUES AS IM A MEMEBR ON PRINCE ALBERT SO USE ALOT OF THERE WATERS.
REGARDS TO HIS BAIT NOT BEING THAT CHEAP THEN SHOW ME WERE IS BETTER LOL
10KG FOR 40 QUID I WOULD SAY THAT IS BLOODY BRILL

In reply to Post #9 It’s not really that cheap though and I’m not pointing fingers at this seller, but some little firms won’t be paying tax. Some don’t even send the bait people have paid for

if your looking for cheap but a real good fish catcher then you try this guys baits and i promise you
you will catch on it dont be fooled into all these high price baits

In reply to Post #3 Second that for DNA
I’m on the bug this year but slk is a really good bait my brother rates the DNA pellets and betaine liquid highly and he’s a tiddler basher
The DNA 20kg for £135 inc post and hookbaits/liquid deal is pretty hard to beat for a respectable low cost bait.
In reply to Post #1 Have a look at handcraft hookbaits. When bought at 50kg or more it’s a good price and a great bait.

Afternoon gentlemen.
I've just casually been looking online at boilies and realised how expensive they are now. ( I usually buy deals )
Even the smaller bait companies seem to be charging a premium now.
What are peoples go to boilie when they have to pay out quite a bit of £££ ?
