.

If you don't want to tie it as a proper combi you can just use coated braid.
Tie a loop in either end as you would a multi, then strip the coating from one of the loops. Leave the knot coated and it will hold putty better. .

Ifyou find it too much of a pain, you could use hydro link by rigmarole. Its a flourocarbon with a braid inner, makes a combi rig very easy indeed.

It's not the mechano rig he's on about. Search Mark Bryant ultimate rig

Same, i use this almost exclusively now. A bit of a pain to tie but 5 or so hooklink sections should last you a year

Works perfectly well. I'd check out Mark Bryant's slip D/multi set up... all the good elements of a slip D with the added benefit of being able to change the hook in seconds.

I've used it extensively for pop ups & wafters and it's never let me down. The only negative is that it's difficult to use with bags.

Considering implementing the slip D into my rig box and was thinking it would be great for fishing both on the bottom and a pop up without having to change rig. Simply add a split shot by the stripped back section and you have a small pop up rig

Has anyone else tried this? does it work effectively? anything to note?
