Honestly. I hope loads more of these waters are opened up. Loads and loads of them. May help disperse some of the people from the lakes I actually want to fish
Shame about the death though

In reply to Post #26 Not disputing any of that! All I mean is - if people are willing to pay the price for something, then for them it's not too expensive. I did about 2 months a couple of years ago and couldn't stand it, but I had to use up holiday in the winter and it's very close to home! Never again.

In reply to Post #7 That tells you more about modern carp fishing than it does about the water - a lot of guys these days want neat swims that'll accommodate all their gear, wifi, power sockets and plastic carp to catch. Just glorified camping in so many ways. I pay good money not to fish that sort of water! Give me a big wind swept gravel pit, no platforms or landscaped swims - just a low stock of biggies and a proper challenge thank you.

In reply to Post #24 Saw a post on Facebook from November. A WhatsApp message that was sent to the membership list.

In reply to Post #23 Where did you hear that from?

In reply to Post #11 Seems that the 40 - stocked November 2021 - has died, along with several others. Not sure how recent this is, but within the last few months apparently.

In reply to Post #1 Fished it when it was a hole in the ground, about 15 years ago. Everyone doing the same thing, casting to the gaps in the islands. I reeled in to go and look at a spot further down only for the bloke next door to start chucking two method balls into the gap in said island.
Chalked it down to just standard day ticket chithousery.
Same as Elphicks. Fished most of those when they were holes in the ground, Same scenario with people chucking lines over each other for a 3lb F1.
Nothing changes.

In reply to Post #20 Yes, just get a decent dongle or spare sim and work from your laptop at the gravel pit

In reply to Post #11 Yes, and the lake owner didn't like it when someone stated 'every lake has a mug fish'
Not my cup of tea

I see the 40 has been out for the fifth time since it was stocked in November.

In reply to Post #9 Not a bad business model, but you wont see me there any time soon

In reply to Post #8 Yeah they do have a list of over 500 on it I believe
at £200 a ticket, he isn't bothered if they fish, a little or a lot, as he has already got £100,000 banked.

In reply to Post #7 Yeah they do have a list of over 500 on it I believe. But I bet after a few sessions and £350 lighter I recon they won’t be doing to many more at them prices .

In reply to Post #6 It is expensive, but they have people queuing up to join so obviously the price must be right for some.

In reply to Post #5 My brother absolutely emptied the place . Very easy water but no longer welcome over there anymore. The bloke who owns it now is a complete tit, never fished before till he took over it but thinks he knows it all . If you work it out £200 hundred to join £60 for 48 hours and do two consecutive weekends you have done £320 . The bloke on crack I’m sure he is 😂😂😂😂

In reply to Post #1 I was watching Neil spooners vlog last night and that was churchgate.
I had to laugh when he got a blender out to make boilie crumb on the bank .
Power points In the swims etc .. looked very comfy and a far cry from the dog s**t strewn parks I fish .
I prefer my waters wild however I can see how some anglers would be drawn to the place .

In reply to Post #2 Definitely well looked after , but the membership gone up to £200 per year and that’s with out your day ticket price. I believe it’s around £30 for 24 hours so a few weekends over there and you are already hitting £300 .

In reply to Post #1 I saw that the 40lb'er had been caught again; twice in a couple of months. As far as I know, they're busy and have a lot of people wanting to join so their pricing is obviously acceptable to those who want to fish there. I did a few sessions during the winter, caught a few but my preference is for more rugged / less manicured venues. It's not everyone's cup of tea but there is no doubt that they're putting in huge amounts of money and effort into the place.

What’s your take on the place over priced or value for money.
