Try Brittany Forest lakes. Formerly China Lakes.

Good Runs Water

2hrs from St Malo

Has a bar.

Full of fish, nice place, Good chance of a 40 or bigger (up to 79).

Nice place with all amenities.

Also has another lake (lake Noir) with big cats in it.

Vital component of a fishing holiday...and there are some serious whackers in there!

Bounty is going to be my choice of venue when my son is old enough for a dad's and lads trip (a few years off yet). Has everything onsite and ideal in regards to stocks and level of challenge (plus a bar!!)

Bounty’s perfect for you but a bit more than a two hour drive , more like four and that’s hacking it

Under 2 hrs drive and great little lake full of fish.
You can get a decent meal , few beers , showers and local supermarket about 5 mins in a car

Evening Gents,

I'm after a recommendation for my first French trip with my 14-year old son (he's a keen carper). The criteria I'm looking for:

- No more than 2 hours drive (from Chunnel or Pompey ferry).
- Bivvied up but access to freezer and showers.
- Small venue (max. 10 acres).
- Size not an issue, 20s and 30s plenty good enough.
- At the prolific/runs water end of the scale.

I have zero experience of French fishing so I'm keen to get some of the collective wisdom on here. Thanks in advance for your help.

John
