good luck with those Gravier type mats . . unless they're properly sealed the water eventually gets in and soaks into the foam . . .making them heavy and smelly . . .jus sayin!

94 quid for the smaller CA one and it’s marginally big than the ESP larger one.

Looks a lot better, bit lighter.

Hopefully I will have a fish on it tomorrow.

I’m tempted to try the Wychwood walled mat. I like that the mat can be used separately from the walled sides. And the fact the whole bottom of the walled section is mesh so will drain quickly.
I have a Trakker sanctuary I think and the little drain holes are useless! Bloody big too when packed up.

Unless they have changed how the mat part folds on the fox one I wouldn't bother. They did not fold up very compact at all when I had one

Narrowed it down to

Prologic inspire unhooking mat -
Wychwood walled mat
Fox carp master deluxe

All look pretty similar but undecided which one to go for

Mate has the Korda basix one, not sure the sides are high enough personally.

I have a xl easy mat, it is rather large. Makes a mat shot of a 30 look laughable.

I have the fox easy mat, its fine for fish safety. It folds up easy enough and packs away ok and no problem on a barrow but if im travelling light i put the rucky straps through the handles and just leave it to dangle.
It might look a bit daft but it doesnt swing around and feel weird when im walking.

I bought the Korda basix one, great mate and very well made, has sides and zips up like a bag type thing.

Funnily enough I've got to do the same.

So far my searching has found the Korda basix one which looks pretty good, cheap and looks like it's reasonably compact - I like the idea of storing stuff in it because it zips up

I’ve got the Fox easy mat. It’s great for pack down and set up. But I wish the ends weren’t as high. You really have to lift the fish up to get them out of the shot. Which I don’t like doing.

I use the Korum Transition Folding Mat, good construction and packs down small. The sides are a good height and nicely padded too so you can use it as a larger flat mat should you ever need to (sides up it’s just under 1m long, which some waters want, but sides down makes it about 1.3m)
