In reply to Post #266 I think mine is a refurb too. The bloke on the till was just being trained up - it'd be a bit tight to do that then close the store...
They have baitrunner St 6000s for about £45 quid so maybe you're right about it being the retail price. Still a decent price though
In reply to Post #260 Not sure if it's just local or nationwide but there's a massive 30 per cent (and more) reduction sale at my go outdoors
My local one did the same recently advertised as closing down but was a store refurb.
I was disappointed to find the 30% off was in fact 30% off the RRP prices, and not their normal prices, so things didn't work out that much cheaper
In reply to Post #260 Wow 30% is good my go outdoors is only doing 15% at the minute
In reply to Post #260 Thats bad news Mal! They usually only run those 30% sales when they are closing down the store, happened with the 2 local to me.

Big fishing section. Everything from bait to end tackle to rods and reels. They've got some nice baitrunners that might have my name on them..

In reply to Post #253 I hear you Gerry and agree, service is good, prices are good, and free delivery over £12. But I do have an issue morally with AD and them buying up all local high street tackle shops. Unfortunately though, I haven't got enough money to turn down a good deal from them.
Back to your Prologic BAT alarms, was thinking of getting some for my youngest, how long have you had them, any issues whatsoever, what's the battery life like - particularly the receiver with the 9V battery?
In reply to Post #251 Wouldn't shop in AD unless at gunpoint and even then its a toss up.
WGAF ?
I have bought shed loads off them always a good price and free fast delivery never had a problem with them
its bad enough how we all get our pants pulled down by grossly overpriced fishing gear bivvys costing £700 to a grand plus ? what a piss take ? Alarms some costing £500 plus at times ? so people will try to get the best buy price unless they are fortunate enough to not be bothered by the price
I am in the camp I want it at the cheapest I can get it for or I may not be able to have it at all !

In reply to Post #219 Yeah, you're probably right.
Also Danny, keep an eye out on their ebay shop, they sometimes have a "sale" on there. And when they haven't got a sale on, their ebay shop and website have different prices on for some reason.

I would advise those on the hunt for Easter bargains to take 2 mins to put the item you intend to buy into eBay and check the current prices on there. The crafty shops often inflate the prices at the same time as offering attractive discount, meaning you not always getting as good a deal as you would hope.
Total Fishing Tackle, Hull Angling, Angling4less are all guilty of this in recent sales. TFT particularly bad.
EBay is always a good leveller and you usually save on postage vs the shop direct.
10% off at BobCo over the Easter weekend. No code required, discount is applied at checkout.

Not REALLY a discount so much but putting it here as well as book face because it’s where people look!
Will be at the Essex carp show this weekend, I have approximately 5ltr of cork granules left from an old batch ( everything has been reformulated to a new lighter granule I’ve just taken delivery of ) so will dish it up into 5 bags if anyone who thinks with hookbaits is attending, FOC obviously. Same thing will cost you a fiver from Moore’s but there’s isn’t as buoyant ( yes you can buy deffierent densities ).
First come first serve and as I’m writing this I’ve had two messages over book face lol
In reply to Post #183 I was thinking about going elsewhere BUT with the 15% off its a bit of a no brainer.
I've just ordered 15kg of 6mm pellet so it seems ok for me.

In reply to Post #172 Looks like they are out of stock on the free alarms , I’ve just seen on my basket it is apologising that there are non left .

There was a small amount of stock on the 3.5lb test curve now they are saying there wasnt any stock when my online order went through and you cant believe the quantity in stock due to how busy the online orders are..Joke why have an online system with quantities left if it doesnt work
In reply to Post #117 Really disappointed with one or two stores I’ve trusted over the years. If they can’t afford to offer discount for Black Friday then I’d prefer if they didn’t, than put the price up and try to fool us into thinking we’re getting a good deal.

In reply to Post #112 Yeah, I've seen it happen across a few of the stores who've been offering discounts. Another one seems to be flipping to full RRP and offering discount off that, when it's generally always cheaper than full RRP anyway. It encourages us to shop around I guess and check out offerings from various shops.
In reply to Post #114 Agreed, ordered a deeper chirp last on Sunday for 179 now after the 15 % deduction it's 185, just shows how much of a con black Friday sales can be

In reply to Post #113 Almost lol
To be fair, some items were cheap a few days ago in the early access before the code, another example was shimano big baitrunners at 150, now 180
Early access was certainly better than now

Example - avid screen house the other day was £129.99, now 165

In reply to Post #108 Can get them from a few places for that but it is an excellent price
If anyone is after a 3 rod set of Fox RX+, Angling4Less have them in stock again at £520 once the discount has been applied. Which feels like one of the best prices I've seen on them recently (could be wrong though!).

In reply to Post #78 I can't make my mind up on a bivvy at the moment. Really wanted a Tempest 100 or 150 but seen some poor reviews on the fabric when it gets wet (goes mottled but apparently it disappears when dry). Also torn between the Frontier XD and a Nash Titan.

In reply to Post #79 Essential and Turner the only ones I have seen

In reply to Post #79 Poachers are doing one, but it hasn't started yet. At the moment, they have 15% off but the BF one will be better. Last year was sliding dependant on how much you spent. Think I go 30% off.
That said, the majority of bait companies did BF discounts last year.

In reply to Post #67 Just checked mate and no it's a different suit. The one I've ordered is the Prologic Max5 Thermo Armour Pro. It has a detachable inner fleece on the jacket so that the jacket can also be used in the summer months (well that's my plan hopefully). The suit is breathable too. Total Fishing Tackle are selling it for £190. The one you've seen is thermal I believe but the fleece lining isn't removable.
I'd obviously rather have gone the military clothing route but I've searched everywhere for jacket and trousers in my size and absolutely nada.
In reply to Post #68 That's right. I bought a pair of Merrell Moab 2 gore-tex mid the other day from gooutdoors. RRP is £130, member price £117, blue light card took them down to £99.50. I just hope they are as good as the reviews I've read on this forum about them.
I'm considering getting all my fishing luggage from gooutdoors as its basically getting 25% off all the Trakker stuff. I'm sure it's still decent enough quality compared to what I had years ago.
In reply to Post #65 Total Fishing Tackle have a 100t with social cap for £243 if you use the 10% code

In reply to Post #66 The 15% they give you for bluelight stacks on top of the 10% you get for a price beat as well.

In reply to Post #66 Total fishing tackle have got a prologic suit in the black friday sale.Im not sure if it's the same suit,I think it's on for £79.99
In reply to Post #64 If you have a blue light card (for emergency services) go outdoors give an e tra 15% off everything. I'm looking at getting the RX plus set including receiver for £500.
I've just ordered the Prologic Max5 Armour thermal jacket and solopettes with 50% off for £160. Not sure how good they are as was originally looking at getting Military goretex dpm jacket and trousers but at 6ft 4 inches tall and 18 stone with a 40 inch waist and 36 inch inside leg, no one seams to sell them so thought I'd give the Prologic suit a go. Atleast if it doesn't fit or it appears poor quality, returning it to a go outdoors will be straightforward for a refund.

Worked for me too, got a 100T social cap for £183

In reply to Post #56 TFT are doing some early stuff for Black Friday. Amongst other things, there's a good 10' setup - Daiwa Black Widow G50 rods @ £30 each and Okuma CB-60 reels @ £35. So a 3 rods setup for £195, a bargain.
I have the rods paired with Okuma Inc 6000's and they're good. Would imagine the CB-60 are good reels.

In reply to Post #34 I know they are working on it but they also invest a hell of alot of time into shows and even do the Fox stand at some.I have seen the work that goes onto them shows with the loading and unloading of the vans.It sometimes does not help that Vale have to take stock from the shop if they have not had deliveries in.This obviously has a massive knock on affect to stock levels online too
In reply to Post #33 The stock control issue seems to be common throughout the angling industry. I recently had this issue with Johnson Ross where I placed an online order and then had a phone call the following day apologising that they wouldn't be able to process the order due to one item not being there. They gave me the options of alternative items, continuing with my order, minus the reel in question or to cancel it altogether. I wasn't happy with the circumstances but couldn't fault the service which is where companies can save face. Not used Vale and I can only assume the reason they don't do what JR did for me is down to volumes during Black Friday. Hopefully they get their systems sorted as with online being such a huge part of tackle shops business now it is an area that should be invested in
In reply to Post #25 This happened to me last year, I ordered items and they never showed up but they were still listed as in stock on their website. Nobody from the company got in contact to say said items were out of stock either. I will avoid them this year, not worth the hassle!
In reply to Post #31 Thats your choice, like I said they get as frustrated as the customers when things don't come into stock when promised they will be.If you are waiting and you ring up they will always give a refund and not try to convince you to wait and hold onto your money.I have been in the store and seen on numerous occasions of deliveries turning up with items missing and Mike and Rod ringing suppliers and having a few choice words.

In reply to Post #28 I don’t think the issue is that they won’t allow you BF discount if the item isn’t in stock. It’s more the fact they take your money for anything listed on their website and then tell you it’s out of stock so have to wait any amount of time from days to months, obviously getting the items off the manufacturer isn’t the shops problem but at the same time why would a shop care that something may take months to come into stock as they’ve already had your money.
In this day and age with the technology available it’s really not that hard to have a portfolio of items for sale that are easily marked out of stock when out of stock. Used Vale a few times over the years but after the agg I had last time I won’t bother again which is a shame as they are only one of a handful of shops that offer proper discounts these days but what’s the point when nothings in stock
In reply to Post #29 They are working on a new system in the shop with pos installed. When an item sells in store and is scanned at the til it will knock it off the stock on the website. Its a family run shop and they really are brilliant people,Dot is Rod and Mikes mum and Tom is Mike's son. They can get crazily busy but always make you feel welcome when you walk through the door
In reply to Post #28 Think the issue is with the website Tony. Most companies websites won't let you order stuff that's out of stock, for example, TFT, AD, etc.
Wasn't a particular problem for me, didn't have them in stock so I got a refund and sourced alternatives.
If you buy it on a black Friday sale and Vale don't have it in stock then they will 100% do it at the sale price when it comes in stock.I get that sometimes people can't wait but it's not Vale holding the items it's the manufacturer not supplying it.I get if its in stock somewhere else and the item is needed quickly or it's only saving a couple of quid then fair enough.I know one lad has been waiting months and months for a rod to come in stock,Vale get as pissed off as you guys waiting for items

In reply to Post #25 Same. I made a couple orders on a Black Friday sale a couple years ago and there was loads of stuff out of stock. Had weeks/months of waiting for stuff to come in stock and in the end got sick of waiting so asked for a refund. Pretty sure they wouldn’t even send out the bits they did have in stock until the order was complete but I’m not 100% sure this was the same issue and may of been somewhere else but I’m fairly sure it was Vale
In reply to Post #25 What I ordered a couple of years ago was not in stock when I phoned but they still done the discount and sent when it came in. They are great people to deal with ordered from them since
