Fished here about 4-5 weeks ago and if you like to swim in mud, this is the place for you, not a single swim had any kind of boards, woodchip, shail or drainage, let alone getting to the swims from the car park was horrendous. 4 inch+ deep mud everywhere.

None of the swims are boarded and are just holes in the reeds, which are overgrown and in a lot of the swims you wouldn’t be able to safely land a fish.

The shower/toilet blocks are something else, dirty, stinking and the toilets are seriously blocked up and unusable, nearly puked at the state of them and I have a strong stomach.

The shower looked like someone had been mud wrestling in it and it’d take some serious cleaning for it to be usable.

Will I be going back – not even if you paid me to, no.

Not sure what experiences you've seen there to have seen all of that but over the years I've fished there quite a few times and I've never encountered any of the above. Odd instance of a previous Baliff being a bit of a dick but apart from that

"Apart from the five finger discounts, the lockdown night fishing, the fights, the shouting, cars hitting bivvies, the dead fish not being retrieved, the karaoke sessions, and the double booking of swims, it's alright for a bend in the rod"

People have no morals.

I had a trip down during the start of the first lockdown before we had the snow lakes were completely frozen and there was about 6 lads all bivvied up on the back lake unable to fish because they’re lines had frozen into the water

I was told that during the first lockdown they asked people to not park on site so it wasn't too obvious. No idea if its true. I can see the place down the hill from work...would need binoculars to see any bivvy though
