In reply to Post #26 the arktis are superb

In reply to Post #25 I’m only looking at one for walking in
the arktis is just too warm for that
I don’t even need a jumper on in the depths of winter lol
|
|
|
In reply to Post #24 I have the arktis and prefer the material on that over the buffalo.I didn't look at the prices when I saw them on Monday when I was in Liverpool

In reply to Post #23 Every size 161£ is out of stock
In stock size is 196 lol
Problem I have is I’m not actually sure of their sizing
I have an arktis a220 mamouth smock that’s great and warm
but it’s heavy and a little tight across the shoulders in a medium
That’s mugging people off
My local stockist is usually 147 for the special 6

In reply to Post #21 Hardest part is finding any available anywhere
I’ve been told by my local supplier they are not expecting any until back end January or feb at the earliest

In reply to Post #20 8 months down line from my original post and have to say the buffalo kit has been brilliant, the parka is brilliant and the warmth to weight ratio is brilliant and I prefer it to my sj9 that I had before as it fits better I’m 6”3 and 18 stone I like the length on the arms as the Snugpak was a little short on my monkey arms and the length is ideal
The sallopettes are brilliant g much warmer than my fortis version and o litterally awdar a pair of shorts underneath them and I’ve not been cold once this winter in them
I’d highly recommend them and will be looking to get a pile shirt at some point down the line

In reply to Post #16 I was in Liverpool on Monday and found a brilliant outdoor clothing shop. They had buffalo in there, the thing most people do is try stuff on in stores then buy it for alot cheaper online

In reply to Post #15 Thats very much dependant on if the sizing is actually accurate, and what measurements they give. some will only give a waist for a jumper for example.
It's nice to go into a proper local tackleshop, find something that fits and put money in the hands of the independent traders. its just such a shame a lot of them can't seem to get in the outdoor brands like ridgeline, fjalraven, buffalo etc.

It's very cool that now almost any clothes can be ordered online. And you can find reviews about any clothing manufacturer on the Internet. This greatly improves the quality of the products produced by the companies. Since the competition is very high. The opportunity to order Muslim clothes online became a discovery for me. When my husband was sent on a business trip to the UAE, I decided to go with him. And I easily ordered country-appropriate clothes on Abaya UK before going to Dubai. It is very convenient and cool that there is such an opportunity.

In reply to Post #13 Just too feedback, items arrived yesterday and are very well made the special 6 trousers are fantastic but were too small so they are in classifieds if anyone is after a bargain at close to 50% off
The parka is very nice thick pile and a lot longer and more forgiving than my sj9 interms of bulk and I love the sallopettes very well made lots of adjustments with the zips and the crotch zip is genius
Thanks for the feedback folks

In reply to Post #11 The buffalo jacket will be much better if used for what it’s designed for - being on the move.
The fortis jacket will be much better at keeping you warm whilst sat on your arse

In reply to Post #11 Fortis have just done a new jacket, not sure what rating it has got.Arktis outdoor are nice and warm,I have got their mammoth shirt

In reply to Post #8 I have the Buffalo Parka and it is a superb jacket but not as warm as my Snugpak FJ6.

In reply to Post #6 Correct. Definitely wear it next to your skin. I've got the shirt and salopettes and theybare great. Had them years and they still look like new. Very warm and comfy.

In reply to Post #7 Can anyone give me a review against what im currently using Snugpak fortis sallopettes and an sj9 - Nothing wrong with it but ive been offered the buffalo park with polatherm lining so the warmest one they do and the sallopettes at a great price so debating if its. worth the change
My understanding is that the buffalo is waterproof and warm !!
its the BAS parka with polartherm
buffalo special 6 trousers
buffalo sallopettes
Im guessing I could raise the money selling my Snugpak to pay for the change so is it worth it?
Thanks in advance

In reply to Post #1 I've one of their shirts and a pair of the semi thermal windproof trousers. Quality, well made and it appears durable.
#2 I'm in the market for a pair after the snugpak ones became irresistible to a mouse in that cold snap. I'll have a look at those

In reply to Post #5 buffalo shirt
try NOT !!!!!!!! using the base layer
as Im sure its meant to be worn directly next the skin and a snug fit ! I have the Snugpak version and its supposed to be not as good ? and thats how I wear mine never ever been cold wearing it
|
|
|
In reply to Post #1 had a buffalo shirt for years now, worn with just a base layer. not warm enough though for this time of year without a jacket if sat about

In reply to Post #1 I use the belay jacket and sallopettes... Very comfy don’t feel hindered in them at all... The jacket is not a winter jacket to sit in all day motion less.. Pertfect for mooching about in, best spring autumn jacket I’ve ever used... I use it all winter but layer up with one base layer and a Sherpa fleece... Does me fine.. Not as warm as a snugpak for sitting about in though..
can’t comment on the trousers.. Sallpettes are lovely though even next to the skin...

In reply to Post #1 I have a Buffalo sleeping bag, not ideal as a fishing bag, but good quality. I also have a couple of pile and pertex jumpers by another manufacturer, but very similar to the Buffalo shirts, wouldn't be without them for winters and cold mornings etc. Be careful around stoves though, I put a hole in one of mine off the car exhaust. The pertex does not like heat or naked flames.

In reply to Post #1 I have their salopettes, very, very good...
