I don't think it would make any difference at all unless you were using a heavy bait and wanted to kick it away from the lead, then the 5.5 would be slightly better.

What's your logic behind this out of curiosity mate? I keep all my rigs pretty much the same. Don't know how long maybe 6 inch

I don't use pre tied rigs or pre formed boom sections etc, but personally would go with smaller boom on ronnie/spinner rig and the longer section on german rig.
Have you tried crimping your own boom sections?

Hi guys which length would be better in the Ronnie and Turbo German versions of the Gemini Tidy Booms. I fish lead clips and tubing, I fish 2 shallow meres with flat sandy bottoms and an a fairly shallow estate lake. I usually fish with small mesh pva bags hooked on the hook. Thanks
