Interesting as i found i could cast further with the s-lites than the Harrison Aviators that i had to test. Different casting styles maybe? They are still a decent playing rod and haven't experienced any issues with hook pulls. I've heard a few people comment on build quality but i've been lucky that i've had no problems with mine . Definitely see them in person before purchasing would be the way to go.

I have a set of 12ft 3.5 S lites and TBH I'm disappointed with them. They are not rods to hit distances and have a more soft pleasant playing action. Also the reel seats can twist on the butt section which is super annoying and I have 2 twisted tip rings somehow.......

So I picked up a set of Shimano TX2 intensities and now use these for all of my fishing, they have a surprisingly nice playing action and can hit any distance I need to get to and have not had any of the issues that I had with the S lites for build durability and I'm gentle with my kit.

If your not interested in hitting distances then the S Lites could be your thing though.

Thanks for the replies. Are the ones that you're selling the 12 or 13 footers?

From my experience the 'ives and 'su' take some compressing. I most would be better with 3.5's

I've got a set of 3 for sale in the classifieds mate if you're interested in coming to have a look. Not too far from you either as I'm in Sheffield. Used for 2 sessions and only selling as I 99% Barbel fish and my 2.75 Barbel rods will do for when I fish the odd Carp session.

A friend got the slives in 12ft and hi-s er's and prefers the slives for both casting and playing fish. Seem very good rods for the money.

I'm thinking of getting a set of S Lite Ives. Has anyone tried these yet. I want a rod that is still enjoyable to play a fish on though. Any opinions or reviews much appreciated. Thanks.
