In reply to Post #26 No more Moulinots for me Dave - 20+ trips over the years was enough.....
I love watching the Kev Ellis vids on Rainbow, but doesn't appeal as a trip. Too much like hard work (to get on there, and to fish it). I prefer to relax a bit in my old age
Not playing a lot of golf mate. One round costs me about 2 weeks of back pain so I save it for special occasions & courses. Also, we're heading back to Kent soon so would be a 10 hour round trip to take you up on your offer!

Have you thought about trying to fish at Rainbow Lake, not everybodies cup of tea (certainly not mine) and to get on there it is like trying to get on a decent syndicate (dead mans shoes etc)?
Assume you no longer fish at Moulinots?
All the best for the future and maybe even meet up for a game of golf in the future, I will treat you to my course at Launceston providing you reciprocate.

In reply to Post #22 As an update to the original post/video of the first Juvigny trip, I managed 2 further 'lockdown' trips in 20/21 - a week at Parco Del Brenta in Italy and another session at Juvigny in the Spring of 2021
What a 12 months of fishing!!! In total, across the 3 trips, I managed a total of 170 fish and these included 11 over 60lbs (2 over 70lbs - a big cat and the Juvigny lake record mirror at 74.10lbs)
The short(ish) video below features the big girls from the trips...

In reply to Post #1 Great session 👏 Chris the owner is a top bloke. I fished there many years ago and the place has gone from strength to strength.
Well done again

In reply to Post #21 Well mate - will deffo be going back to have a go for the big 70lb+ mirror that eluded me on the last trip....!!

In reply to Post #17 I knew what you meant Fred
Luckily, I never got stung by Bossard, despite the near miss....
I've been lucky over the last few years. Had a couple of great trips to Parco Del Brenta (got back last Monday, having had 55 fish from swim 9, including another 60 - my 7th this year!!!), a good few trips to the ever popular Moulinots, and a few more to a couple of the lakes on this Marne Vally complex

In reply to Post #16 Thanks for the comments guys - much appreciated
If anyone's interested, the lake has just become available on an exclusive basis for the week commencing Sat 31st of October (due to Covid quarantine issues for the group that were booked on). Brilliant opportunity for anyone that can get a group together at short notice. I'd normally jump at the opportunity, but I have family commitments, plus I only got back from Parco in Italy last week
Let me know via PM if interested, and I'll put you in touch with Chris the owner....!
Edit: hope this is allowed!? Can a mod let me know if not? Cheers

In reply to Post #11 Not really I was referring to the old chestnut bozzard and the lesser spotted leviathans .
A while ago I agree but not really updated where he’s been fishing the last few years .
Didn’t want to mention it but needed to to support my comment .

In reply to Post #10 I agree mate. Lovely lake, and Chris is a true gent
Not sure what the 'watercraft draw' is, but I'm notoriously unlucky in every draw I've been in so it was great to come out first (of one!!) on this trip

In reply to Post #5 Strange comment Fred as Simon has had many good sessions at various foreign lakes over the years, think he did well last week at Parco? Agreed it was a trip of a lifetime though!

In reply to Post #1 Great video and session Simon.
Probably my favourite lake in France Juvigny. Chris is a top bloke, **** up though and he'll put you straight, but that's another story
Two of my favorite fish are from there, an absolute brute of a mirror, a very dark fish @64lb about 4 years ago. A common@49.12 maybe 5 years ago, that you couldn't design a better framed and coloured common.
I like the way Chris does the watercraft draw, the best way in my opinion.
Great stuff

In reply to Post #7 Thanks mate. Yea, bit of both regarding the music. Didn't want to cross the minefield of copyright , but TBF, I quite like the tracks. Took an age to choose what I though fit with the footage!!

In reply to Post #1 Session of a lifetime right there.......

In reply to Post #1 Very nicely shot and pretty looking lakes too, makes me want to go there. I'd bin the generic music though, but that may just be a matter of taste and copyright..

Just seen the video Simon
Brilliant I like the way you tagged all the swims and the fish with their weights/times etc etc
Like you said it’s once in a life time session

In reply to Post #1 Wow that’s some session and makes a change that you have had a proper result .
I will check the filming out later 👍

In reply to Post #1 Well done Simon, had to read the thread again as I thought you were talking about Italy last week 8! You have aged though since the last time we met i.e. October 2012, how time flies!

In reply to Post #2 Cheers
Yea, great venue & very well run. I think it helps having the place to yourself so you can pretty much follow the fish wherever they go LOL. Not sure that opportunity will ever come up again.....!

Well done
Went there a few years ago Chris is a top bloke and the lake has a great head of fish in it.
Sadly I didn’t get amongst them so might be time to go bag to try and catch one 👍

Well - I've been on over 40 European fishing trips (France & Italy) and waited a looooonnng time for my first 60lb carp, and then 6 come along in one extended session!!!!
Earlier this year, I got the chance to fish for just over 3 weeks at the Marne Valley Carping complex in the Champagne region, and with no-one travelling in mid/late-May due to Covid-19, I was fortunate enough to have the main lake at the fishery (Juvigny) all to myself. I also did a short 36-hour stint on the small lake (Vraux) which was the lake I was actually booked onto for a week
In total, I managed 75 fish including the 6 x 65+ carp and a couple of big cats to just over 70lbs!!
While I was down there, I took some footage of all the lakes, including some aerial stuff with my new toy . I've now had a chance to edit it all together with the fishing footage (my first time doing anything like this, so go easy with me lol) and I've put a link to the video on YouTube below. Beware - it's over 55 minutes long! My missus says it's too long........by about 53 minutes . If you're not interested in the venues, skip forward to where the fishing starts at about 21m:30s
Anyway, I want to add that absolutely no money or concessions were given in return for the filming & editing. I paid for the time I spent fishing in full, AND for the 500kg of bait I bought on site
I'd be keen for some constructive feedback on the film fella's. Let me know what you think....?
Trip of a Lifetime!!
