In reply to Post #11 Fished it last March on a busy weekend. Pegs are ridiculously close on some banks but with sensible fishing you are OK. Prob no worse than the lakes at Linear. Loved fishing there. Will definitely head back v early spring when it's quiet. Good winter water I'm told as it's not deep.

In reply to Post #9 I’ve only ever fished it mid week and never been more than 7-10 people on spread around 30 odd swims, but I agree what your saying about swims being close together
I have found that for a day ticket it seems to attract the more sensible angler among us
Weekends could be completely different though

In reply to Post #9 Pegs crammed together. My idea of hell in fishing.... anywhere.
Likewise. I know it is a business, but surely well spread out existing swims carefully chosen, other swims too close next door or opposite closed off, or permanently shut.
Less anglers with the option to move, would be better all round.
IMHO Less angling pressure Happy anglers that are not hemmed in.

Personally I found it horrendous on the fishing side of it. Pegs crammed together. My idea of hell in fishing. Lovely looking lake with some very nice fish. we had them to 37lb.
but it’s as far from my type of fishing as it gets. 11 man social and we ended up just using 2 rods as the rigs were landing around 15-20ft from the next bloke.
Just reminded me why I never fish day ticket lakes and why I’ll never go back. For the cost of 8 nights on a day ticket lake you can get some stunning peaceful syndicate waters.

Me and two pals are going on tuesday after the bank holiday so hoping should have a decent chance of pitching up close to each other

In reply to Post #2 As Nick said in post#4, the swims opposite the carp park are decent, the beach and the point. For some reason, the swims on the rhs (looking from the car park) are not very popular. I guess I've been about 10 times over the years, and I don't think I've ever seen anyone fishing there. This has been midweek though.
Small baits and their own pellets seem to work. There are a lot of tench in there also.
Nice place, mid week should be fine, but weekends are busy.

In reply to Post #2 I fished it years ago, a lovely looking lake.
The swims near the car park can produce fish, but personally I prefer the long walk round to the Far side and the Beach swims or to the left and what I think is a very nice spot, a double swim and fishing along the margins to the left treeline.
Horcott has a decent website, and is located nicely to watch the Fairford Airshow...
