In reply to Post #100 I will be getting a set of the clear ones and it is for charity so it's win win
They do like amazing subtle but classy
In reply to Post #99 The lest we forget solar bobbins look superb, they will go for crazy money and I hope they do
The certificate with the bobbins was because the bobins was a charity auction with only 10 sets made they are old flouro bobbins with a vynal wrap placed over the top
The idea being so for solar collectors it was a way of proving these were the genuine bobbins not a copy 2 to back it up from solar and nutrabaits that it was OK to use the company logo's and 3 to add value that they are solar most important part was the value aso when all said and done the more they sold for the more money went to charity 100% no cost or overheads just a little back ground on them and for those interested in know there is another charity auction coming up again with more solar Bobbins on eBay by the same person different design again 100% going to charity again a run of 10 sets hope that helps on some questions
They are a lest we forget poppy design

In reply to Post #92 I think he was replying to #87,I think these are the ones dobbins bobbins made to raise money for charity
My friend used to do some work for solar he did have two bin liners full of their old stuff especially the alarms, might tell him to sort it out and sell it on the bay 👍
In reply to Post #91 Where did i claim to have them, I did not
And I was never aware that Solar produced any official authentication certificates, as I’m aware, they don't?
I was also not aware of the background either
I can see it now though, another £100 on the top line of stainless manufacturers products because you are investing in something for the future and you get an authentication certificate lol. Mind you, guess that would only be valid for U.K. manufactured products? Could be a good thing
I doubt it though £
In reply to Post #90 I highly doubt you have them solar bobbins below they were produced recently by solar enthusiasts for charity with the approval from solar.
In reply to Post #85 That is just mental
And what’s the certificate made from, an old cornflake box
I can’t help thinking that the odd purchase might be for sentimental value?
I bet most of it is by some sad ****s trying to create a carpfishing past, could be wrong?
In reply to Post #87 I know Mark, it's gone bonkers. I bought a lot of Solar stuff over the years, some of it is over 30 years old, some collecting dust in drawers possibly for 2 decades, but at these prices it makes me wonder if I should let them go.
I also bought a small amount of Solar stuff when they were running it out of shops a couple of years ago, you know the sort you'd not pay full whack for as you didn't really need it but if it was a good price why not. I sold some line clips, have 3 of packs of Fluoro heads I'll probably never use...hmm decisions decisions!
What I would say is have a look at the Solar FB page and include a bit of history with your selling. There have been quite a few 'copies' knocking about, needle systems, early bobbins, stainless Fluoro inserts/caps Kodex being passed off as Solar etc.

4 bottles of Nash Chocolate Malt £100 + £17 p&p last time I looked
Crazy
In reply to Post #85 Cheers guys! I have a stack of solar stuff that's not been used in years and have the same bobbin set shown below! I never knew it was worth that much - found it a few months ago when I was helping my mother with some house clearing after my poor dad got put into care. To think I'd probably had put them up for sale at around £20. I'll certainly be selling all the solar gear if people are really paying stupid money for it; also got needle bars, monkeys, all sorts of things, even a load of the interchangeable bodies in various colours, which I now see fetch high prices. Should be a nice little earner
In reply to Post #85 Seems to me these threads always attract the dreamers and IRT the solar stuff wannabe owners. Its only worth what someone wants to pay and discrediting that and ridiculing in some faint hope it comes back within their budget just seems really sad to me.
Just jealous I don't have some sets knocking about
In reply to Post #83 Yeah there is mate you can get ones on eBay that fit for hardly any money at all, I think I got 3 for £10 or something like that
In reply to Post #82 Surely there are cheaper containers that will do the same job. Some people are just label concious. Fine if you want to waste your money. That's just my opinion. People can throw their money away if they want too.
In reply to Post #81 It might be because I read somewhere they fit in the front pockets of many barrows? That’s what my friend had mine off me for anyway
In reply to Post #76 Really - I have two of them ....why are they paying so much for these old water bottles ?
In reply to Post #78 Nope...owned by me and was certainly scratched on the side - in fact scratched all over.
i believe its because trakker changed the design of them and the old square ones go for silly money
In reply to Post #76 Utter madness.
Was it super famous, previously owned by TH, as seen on Thinking Tackle with a scale drawing of Mary scratched into the side?
In reply to Post #76 What the actual **** is that about lol. Madness.
Just sold a Trakker 5 litre bog standard water container.
£33 ......
Think it cost a tenner about 4-5 years ago
In reply to Post #71 I had that once with these, but relisted then and got £50 more.ive been really lucky, theres loads of rubbish stories about
In reply to Post #72 Nope.....they are bl**dy lovely though
In reply to Post #72 7 solar needles being offered for 420 on fb at the moment.

In reply to Post #70 Bloody hell !!! That's incredible
Where they diamond encrusted? Lol.

In reply to Post #70 I’ve nearly given up selling on **** bay. 3 of last items I’ve sold haven’t been paid for and no communication. Full of retards

In reply to Post #69 I bought 3 sets of 3 of the older mgs xsb mags for 350 a reel when they stopped making them about four years ago
Kept one set, got 2250 for one and 2145 for the other. If only id bought more!!

In reply to Post #66 They most certainly are
In reply to Post #65 Noooooooo not original enough ! Are they red ? They wont work if not red pmsl
In reply to Post #62 Can get the exact same tops on pva glue from hobby craft
In reply to Post #63 That happens alot with Lego aswell, people take out the mini figs and then say they we're missing. Ebay goes with the buyer and the seller is left with a worthless set as its the figures that people collect.
In reply to Post #1 I will not sell on there no more. To many times I have had stuff sell and a couple weeks later told items broken and they want a refund, even though you have full photo proof, eBay always side on the buyer.
Lost way to much money, especially when you think, 30% of what you sell for will end up in eBay's pocket. Selling fees, final fee and then the PayPal fees.
I only buy on there now. But would rather sell on here or FB marketplace. Saying that, having payments on PayPal is not good as they also side on the buyer so you get shafted there too
To much stress and hassle with eBay and paypal
In reply to Post #61 Well you cant get them anymore !!
did you guys see the ''vintage carp bobbins'' listed last week.
3 fairy washing up liquid tops went for 11 quid......
Saw some korda black and white bobbins go for 75 quid the other week, you cant get them brand new for £55
I was watching a set of 6 bushwhacker extension poles out of interest, was amazed when they went £142 plus delivery...they are only £60 new. Same person was selling the bushwhacker pole kit and that went for the same price as a new one yet you can get them new at the min!
Madness
It is definitely a strange place that's for sure.
I have seen listings up as a Buy it Now and not sell get re-listed as an auction and go for way in excess of the original Buy it Now price..... .....if you can hold your nerve and be prepared that an item might not go for as much as you wanted then a 99p start auction attracts idiots from miles around....
A good time to sell on Ebay at present....
Hopeless for buyers though.
I was taking interest in the price of Korda Krimping tools recently.... not that they were required, simply out of interest.
An item costing £15 brand new was being regularly sold at £60 (auction) for a used item when the shops had no stock.
As soon as shops had stock the price plummeted back to the £10 (used) they usually are sold for.
There sure are a lot of mugs in carp fishing with more money than sense.
I'm expecting a glut of used tackle at knockdown prices when the new anglers that just started during lockdown realise it's not for them or redundancies occur.
In reply to Post #54 I sold my fox black label compact pod on there 2 weeks ago, it sold for £185 plus £6 postage I couldn’t believe it, I only paid £160 brand new Only expected to get about £120 for it by looking at the others but the bids kept going up so wasn’t going to complain, put the money towards my new pod so I was happy
I’m on the lake at the moment. On the ground, with a fair bit of mud on it , is an original, complete, Steve Neville landing net.
Maybe I should sell it and take a holiday....**** can’t go anywhere
Just seen a jag nano pod go for 294.99 plus 10 postage with no buzzbars included. What the hell goes through some bidders heads
In reply to Post #52 I've seen two issues of the bcsg mag go for £80+ each and three original Neville stainless singers go for 140 🤣🤣🤣
In reply to Post #51 Get em on mate tub of red eye ones going for 40 odd quid last time i looked
In reply to Post #49 Cool got about 10 unused pots
In reply to Post #48 No it's not
Baitroom pop ups are going for silly money on there now 1 pot at 36 quid at the min
In reply to Post #40 I believe its the owner of Tackle Trader selling them as well.
In reply to Post #46 I still use my original bowlock net. Think I better wrap it in cotton wool and cash in !
In reply to Post #44 I bet he would as well if it’s one of the originals from the 90s!
In reply to Post #44 I’ve got a full Solar set up I bought around 1990.
The original adjustable buzz bars (think these were the first adjustable ever) , banksticks, satellite system, monkey climbers, stabilisers, stainless backrests.
Don’t use any of it cos it’s pretty crap by today’s standards. Maybe a good time to sell. Does have some sentimental value.
In reply to Post #42 £300 for an original Bowloc handle, he could have my complete Bowloc for that
A few years back I purchased 10 bottles of hutch chocolate malt for 44 quid.
Still had them when I stopped making bait some years later.
Sold them for over 300 quid.
In reply to Post #37 A chap I know has made a lot of money over the last year trading Solar stuff, mainly on a Facebook selling site. I don’t get it, neither does he really but it’s working for him. His best was a solar bow lock original landing net handle which he sold for about £300....that’s just for the handle!
In reply to Post #40 Just had a solar merchandise page popped up and they are selling the solar cap at £9.99 plus £6 postage In stock now
There’s one for sale on eBay at £35
Which one should I buy !!!
In reply to Post #38 3 Solar bobbins on Tackle Trader for £145
I thought about selling some of my solar stuff but sod eBay with all the scammers on their 👎👎
In reply to Post #35 That’s one of the most ridiculous things I’ve seen in a while
In reply to Post #36 With solar stuff yes at the minute
In reply to Post #35 108 quid and reserve not met ?
Is this for real.
Have a look at the solar bucket hat 🤔🤔
In reply to Post #30 They have been out of stock in most places for a few months now, was going to bid on them myself as i broke the ring on mine but stock has just arrived so will be buying some tomorrow from a tackle shop.
In reply to Post #32 Yes it is.
I can't see it myself hes got 4000+ feedback and sells alot of carp tackle. years ago I seen a job lot of korda tackle with no pics sell for over £100,000 just a korda logo photo...surely it ain't that easy to launder cash on ebay is it?
In reply to Post #30 That's crazy for sure, not sure money laundering can account for this type of price as is surely too low a value to make it worthwhile?
Just seen 3 fox rapide loaders go for 29 quid... just the things to hold the bags open no bags or cases
In reply to Post #28 That's awful, after a month!
Looks like maybe the best thing is to message the buyer after purchase and check they are 100% happy, then at least if they reply you have a defence, but probably 95% wont.
Sold a free spirit marker rod got positive feedback less that a month later got a message saying tip had snapped.was absolutely mint when I sold it, after contacting Ebay they told me to come to an arrangement with buyer as he would win the case lost £150 as he wanted a full refund, wont sell rods on Ebay now.obviously frapped round tip
In reply to Post #26 That's exactly it.
In reply to Post #21 That sounds almost definitely like a bit of Money laundering, things have gone on like that in the art world for a long time. Two or three people bid at auction for a piece of old tat that's worthless and the winning bidder is very well known to the seller. Its just an old scam that seems to be on ebay now.
In reply to Post #16 It was the same phone but had definitely been tampered with . The guy that bought it buys and sells phones/tablets.
I sold a set of steve neville f.o buzz bars on ebay a few years back, mint condition, when they got to there destination they claimed the bars were bent, how the hell could anything bend a set of f.o bars...it would have to have been run over by a challenger tank,it was going to cost me £15 to return them to me so refunded them £15....absolutely fuming as the pictures they sent me didn't show any damage....because there was none.

In reply to Post #21 100000 for a bike?!? Is it one of evel keneivel's?
I use eBay quite a bit selling off my old vinyl and comics. Very few problems apart from two damaged in transit by ham fisted postmen....
Had 1 record got lost in Amsterdam but I guess that can happen to anyone.. .

In reply to Post #20 It's a recent thing, buyers can cancel within the first hour as long as the item hasn't been marked shipped
Didn't know that, worth knowing. Thanks
After refunding the whole amount they still left negative feedback, I was down £40 for postage and then the cost of the item too
****s
I have been buying a few motorbikes lately and always looking on Ebay bikes listed on there for £100,000 that are worth £4000 at most and they sell !!!!
In reply to Post #17 It's a recent thing, buyers can cancel within the first hour as long as the item hasn't been marked shipped. I'm refusing to use ebay now, too many people playing the game of saying its broken when it isn't and hoping you partially refund high value items or just let them keep it.
I've had two items returned that were absolutely fine, yet I'm out of pocket for the delivery and return postage and ebay don't care about sellers. It's a buyers world on there, except the prices are generally extortionate now.
Sold a roof rack and bars on there, buyer begged for postage which cost £20, then said one of the screws was threaded despite me having photos to prove it either wasn't the same one or they had damaged it themselves. Was going to cost me another £20 to get it back so I refunded them in full and said they can keep it and buy a replacement part for about £10. After refunding the whole amount they still left negative feedback, I was down £40 for postage and then the cost of the item too.
In reply to Post #17 As a business seller they hold your money until you cancel and you don’t get your PayPal fees back only your eBay fees.
In reply to Post #13 Money laundering.
In reply to Post #15 Didn't think buyers could cancel a transaction you have to ask the seller to do it on your behalf.
Happened to me when I sold something once and I got all my seller and Paypal fees back.
In reply to Post #14 Was it the same phone sent back, I always note IMEI number as had a similar issue with a phone I sold to someone in Ireland. They soon shut up when I said return the phone but make sure it’s this IMEI number! All of a sudden it was working fine.......
In reply to Post #13 Our business has been trading on eBay for about 6 years now and this last couple of weeks we’ve had a ridiculous amount of people buying then instantly cancelling the order after making payments. Something fishy going on and as a seller we still have to pick up fees via PayPal. Makes my pisk boil.
In reply to Post #13 Sold an IPhone 7 recently and about 4 weeks after I had a message to say it was faulty and kept switching off. I initially refused the refund but eBay forced me into it. The buyer returned the phone and now it won’t charge. Filed a complaint with eBay and nothing. It is a shame a once great site has now become a place for scammmers and con artists with everything in the buyers favour.
Made what people will pay for stuff though.
Anyone noticed an increase in suspicious activity on eBay? I've sold the odd thing for years and never a problem.
But I've listed some rods and I've had to cancel three orders now due to suspicious buyers, paypal holding funds and classifying the transaction as 'high risk', storage container delivery addresses, foreign delivery addresses, buyers offering to pay over the odds etc. Maybe I've just been unlucky.
A lot of money laundering going on on Ebay at the moment !!!!!
In reply to Post #9 Got to agree opened a few cases in a couple of weeks due to non payers
In reply to Post #9 I was changing my luggage to speero so sold my camolite stuff, sold my bucket carryall for £75, loads of of other bits..paid for my speero luggage and a healthy bit left over.
I bought a job lot last year and there was 3 sets of korda krimps, sold all 3 through Facebook for £35 and could of sold them for more 10 times over, people were going mad for them..put a pair of wychwood ones on ebay and they went for £35 too.
Thing with ebay is they don't always pay. I've sold a few things on there where the bidding goes silly high, some have paid but some haven't, and when you offer a second chance to the next bidder they never take it either
In reply to Post #6 Understandable for some, but even in stock items on eBay for less
I was watching a guy on eBay selling stuff at ridiculous prices, the bids go mad, he sold a crapy Diawa bedchair for £185, I had the exact bedchair about 12 yrs ago and cost me £80 brand new
In reply to Post #3 Dont forget that many products are out of stock at the moment and can be for a long time now...
Watched a Fox camolite bait bucket bag go for £122 the other week! Mental
Seen loads lately selling 2nd hand for me than it is new, baffles me
Was looking at spod rods the other day. Watched the one I was after and it went second hand for £30 more than I could buy it new for. Used condition. Mental.
It seems the solar gear has gone through the roof since lockdown
Been on the look out for a solar sp multi pouch and finally found one for 29.99 delivered new
Just seen one sold on eBay for £51 plus postage.
There’s some crazy people about
