Just with a 9' soft coated braid with 7-8 mm stripped before the eye of the hook, going with a size 6 krank as it's only open water fishing, just on a res where you can either catch a few carp or catch a load of bream In a day session so want something simple as I don't take a kettle with me.

The answer would depend on the type of hooklink material.

Muggas in a 4, or scale down if necessary to pick up a bite.

I think he means what size do you use for a standard knotless knot rig buddy.

Wouldn't having a slightly inturned eye narrow the gape too much with a stiff hooklink?

Got to be a wide gape with a slightly in turned eye. Have a look at angling iron, sharpest hooks out the packet I've found so far.

So if you was going to fish a standard knotless knot rig, which hook would you use and why ? A friend of mine uses the kranks and does well on them, anybody else used them ? Just got me thinking that sometimes you can over complicate when you don't have to.
