In reply to Post #93 Only used mine twice. As below really, it's a session bivvy - a brilliant one, but not really ideal for overnighters (with the wrap anyway)
I can't fish my lake because it's in wales, so won't get to use it until the spring I think.
It's amazing design though.

In reply to Post #93 I sold mine after a few sessions. I found that it just wasn’t quick enough to set up quickly when moving swims in the rain (I‘ve got ants in my pants and often move a couple of times a day!). Like people have previously mentioned, the bivvy goes up simply like any pramhood, but to peg it out correctly without any sagging is too much faffing about, especially when it’s hammering it down!
I’ll stick my old evo for now, and will prob buy an AXS or Titan next year.

In reply to Post #92 Any additional user feedback on these after a month or so?

I'm out in mine for the first time now. I get what people are saying about there being no wiggle room, but mine went up fine. If you need to, just bring the sides in a tiny bit and crumple up the gs a bit. Takes a lot longer than my tempest brolly but it's luxury in comparison. I've just put the wrap on and I'm pretty confident you could put two bed chairs front to back next to each other. Material is outstanding and it looks well made. So far, so good. My lake has perfectly flat pegs though.

In reply to Post #89 Sorry to hear that mate. Also as there is so little room for error, amyone that recieves one that is just a mm or two shorter than somone else's is going to have a very different experience. This could easily happen
With a bit of variance when sewn up.

In reply to Post #87 Exactly that. I had that pdf from Wychwood. Had a few bivvys in my time. It’s a great design with loads of usable room. But there is literally no wiggle room. It is 100% fine on flat ground, as soon as it came to pegging out on uneven ground it was impossible to peg out flat to the front, the other issue is that there is zero tension on the rear pole,
Just my experience and just glad Wychwood were happy to take it back

In reply to Post #87 I'll try to give mine a trial run tomorrow night, but I'll have it out at the weekend anyways, so I'll give you an update soon. First impressions, material is excellent.
In reply to Post #86 there really doesn't look like enough wiggle room with that pegging.
it's all very well saying keep it verticle, keep it straight but some banks have tree roots and lumps etc.
also i think worse on a level swim than a slope. a level one with humps in it is going to be difficult
most bivvies, if you look, have a bit of extra slack at the front sometimes giving you a bit of a slope and often
multiple pegging points.
when this one is pegged perfect there is not a mm overlap on the ground. looks very neat. but im not sure
how practical it is.

In reply to Post #85 all the ones that had problems

In reply to Post #84 So how were people doing it wrong then? Front 1st 🤷🏻♂️
So the same way you peg out every other bivvy then?! Fair play to Wychwood for producing that, but it doesn’t look like rocket science.

Sorry about the triple post.

In reply to Post #78 It now comes with a shovel to flatten your peg out

In reply to Post #77 apparently there is a certain sequence to follow pegging this out and eliminates any problems some people have had they have now printed a guide

In reply to Post #71 Anyone else having problems with pegging out? I’ve ordered one of these and hoping I’ve not made a mistake?

In reply to Post #74 Mines coming tomorrow, luckily my lake has nice flat pegs but I'll give it a trial run. The PDF instructions seem very specific.
In reply to Post #71 I had no problem with mine on an uneven swim it was sloping from back to front over approximately 10 inches and falling away to the right.
I followed the PDF for setting up and had no issues.
In reply to Post #71 It has not been field tested then. Not even once. Usual Chinese garbage.

In reply to Post #71 Not as perfect as it seemed.

In reply to Post #67 Just FYI. Mine has been returned. There was another thread on the fact they are very difficult to peg out flat to ground. It can be done ok on flat ground but they are near on impossible to peg out correctly on uneven ground....this also includes the wrap. It’s a complete ball ache.
I spoke to a very busy tackle shop where I purchased and having spoken to Wychwood agreed to take it back and refund me. I was given the nod that they are aware of an issue with these, hence why they agreed a return.
Just a heads up M&R tackle in Germany are doing the Solar SP Bankmaster Twin rib at a reduced price for €140 odd and the the wrap for €70 odd might be an alternative to the Wychwood
I've no idea what the p&p is

In reply to Post #66 Well I'll find out, just ordered one with wrap Tempest brolly V1 has lasted 3 years or so but is getting a bit tired now.

In reply to Post #65 You can definitely zip the front off but I cannot remember if there are retaining points to pin the last of the side wings back, I'm pretty sure there is but without getting mine back out I couldn't honestly say.

Does the front zip off, so that when using with the wrap you can have more room at the front, OR, can the front sides to the left and right of the door opening be folded nicely out of the way?

In reply to Post #62 yea its a bloke from Cornwall that says
>>> Has only been used a few times no rips or tears on selling as preferred a brolly

There is one on ebay starting price £120 if anybody does want one. Not mine by the way

In reply to Post #45 Actually thinking of getting one of these, since the damn rats got into my garage and chewed a hole in my old old bivvy The mozzi and clear window should´ve been integrated as one(standard), with the solid door optional, if total darkness is required. Then again, don´t take that long to zip off and change, whenever necessary. I´d probably remove the solid and use the mozzy as standard. Loving the footprint though
In reply to Post #44 It's a bit poo really and when you've got the original door on you've got no ventilation at the front of the bivvy unless you leave it open a bit then the mozzies will be straight in.
In reply to Post #42 That is a real l shame, having to change doors if i rains is a nuisance, they should have thought of that it's obvious really..
The only thing concerning me is the tension bars,if they are anything like the storms poles on the mhr brolly. Both the ones on my brolly now slip and won't lock up properly
In reply to Post #39 Can’t fit both doors at same time mate, as they utilise the same zip. It’s either one or the other.
Yep, really like the look of this, on the shopping list when they are back in stock...
Had a google of this a couple of times after reading this. Looks a cracking bit of kit
Comes with a door, Mozilla and clear window are options and tbh £20 each, is spot on imho
In reply to Post #38 Can you have both doors fitted at the same time or is there only one zip?
In reply to Post #33 Yep, comes with solid door. I bought the mozzy mesh door too (can’t moan for an extra £20).
If I was being a moany bitch, I’d say it’s a shame that a mozzy mesh isn’t integrated into the solid door, so you don’t have to change the whole thing over, but I’m not in a moany bitch mood so still happy with life!
In reply to Post #36 Read post 30,he thinks it comes with no door.It comes with a solid door
In reply to Post #35 Think Guy is saying it should come with a clear door also ! Personally don't like clear doors but would buy the mozzi door as an extra
In reply to Post #33 Comes with door it even states it in description
In reply to Post #33 Spec says it comes with a door
In reply to Post #31 On the Wychwood website it states :-
249.99quid for the bivvy
19.99quid for the mozzy door
19.99quid for the clear door
119.99quid for the overwrap
Wychwood Tactical Bivvy
In reply to Post #28 Thanks oldgeezer I'll keep an eye on it
In reply to Post #30 Not sure where you have got your information from but it comes complete with a door
In reply to Post #1 So the bivvy is 250quid without a door OR 290quid with the clear & mozzy door Why not sell the bivvy with a clear door as standard, with the mozzy door as optional ? A bivvy should have a door, whereas a shelter doesn´t
In reply to Post #1 Like the look of this. Nice compact footprint.
Surprised people aren't ripping it to shreds - most Bivvies \ Brollies are far too big and WIDE these days.

In reply to Post #26 RE ....Looking at getting the Wychwood Tatical Brolly, can't find any in stock
I asked them on their Facebook page this is their reply
awaiting the confirmed date but it's looking to be late-July due to shipping delays

In reply to Post #25 Yes. Good point

Looking at getting the Wychwood Tatical Brolly, can't find any in stock apart from abroad
Apologies for nicking the thread

In reply to Post #24 Depth is 180, typical "wide" bed is what, 95cm....so you do the maths! With the bed flat against the back you will have as much space again at the front of it and as the roof of the bivvy slopes upwards it will feel even bigger.
In reply to Post #13 I like the look of these, only thing that put me off was the depth as use a wide bed. Anyone use a wide with it?

My hog has four clips and then Velcro for the majority of the ground sheet align and it settles no drama

In reply to Post #20 Short video on you tube, the guy says it has little toggles to fasten it in

In reply to Post #18 What is the groundsheet like in the Tactical, zip-in, clip-in or velcro?
In reply to Post #18 If i were to chop in my Trakker Caymens (i have 3 ... so wont be anytime soon ) This Wychwood is what i would buy.

After seeing the tactical bivvy set up, I was that impressed that I sold my tempest V2 bivvy and bought one.
I must have had every bivvy on the market over the past 20 odd years, and this is probably the best so far!
It’s very lightweight at around 5kg (excluding groundsheet), goes up quickly, utilises the footprint perfectly due to the square shape and flat sides (comparable to oztent or ridgemonkey) so the bedchair is tight against the back panel leaving loads of room. It has excellent rear vents, is very stable, and quite tall which is handy for us with dodgy backs! Best of all is the quality, the material is second to none, especially after using the over rated aquatexx on my past few bivvy’s.
Massive thumbs up from me 👍

In reply to Post #1 Does it have additional poles to put in? I read somewhere there was 5? I'm torn between this and the sonik axs bivvy
In reply to Post #14 Which two are those mate?
In reply to Post #1 If was in the market for a new Bivvy then it would come from either Wychwood or Nash having chosen wisely many years ago I have two that do all I’d ever want and nothing since has tempted me.
In reply to Post #12 Sorry wrong info guys it wasn’t Velcro but toggles much quicker and the ground sheet doesn’t move...
In reply to Post #9 Agreed I have a jrc tx extreme and as good as it is bivvy wise I end up not using the groundsheet because it’s such a faff with velcro
Zip-in groundsheet would of been great.
In reply to Post #6 I can put my Cayman (minus the peak) up as quick as my Tempest Brolly or Evo Compact
Velcro in groundsheet ruins it for me...
In reply to Post #7 does look decent, apart from a very quick carpology vid, the Wychwood marketing is crap, would love a full review somewhere. Even on their website it is one pic and thats it
In reply to Post #6 Yep only two breaks in the pole plus there anti twist.
Even the bag is oversized and full zip
In reply to Post #5 Does it just go up and down as a pram hood?. They never seem particularly fast to me. Looks smart though.
In reply to Post #1 I really like the look of the Wychwood Tactical bivvy and would buy one if i didnt think the Cayman was so good. Hate velcro groundsheets though (although i rarely use one). Nice to see someone bring out a simple & sensibly designed lighweight bivvy .... Its been a while since i see one
In reply to Post #3 Velcro mate decent groundsheet as well.
In reply to Post #1 looks a great design loving the proper width door
and at not a pull your pants down price too
In reply to Post #1 How does the groundsheet attach, velcro, zip in, clips?
I have had a few over my time 3 in just this month...
Finally a decent bivvy great coverage ok weight, packs down in under 2 mins..
The wychwood tactical bivvy..
Great bit of kit with loads of internal space...
