In reply to Post #10 For me Baitworks shelflife is alot softer than their freezer bait and breaks down quicker.

In reply to Post #1 The only ones I've used in recent years are from Oxford carp baits, they are excellent shelf life baits, I reckon it would be hard to tell between the freezer baits and shelf life once thawed out. And if it's softer baits you want these are well worth a look.
Sample packs are available 👍

Big thumbs up for the A Bait. The Wasp is excellent, would happily take it anywhere. Was in the same position as you a few years ago and tried loads of different shelf life baits before setting on Jay’s stuff.
It’s rolled at ABS these days which gives you an indication of quality too

In reply to Post #10 The shelf life seems a lot softer than the freezer which I prefer and also the shelf life takes on glug well.
I still have some bait in the freezer but it’s easier keeping shelfies in my van.

In reply to Post #9 “and prefer the shelf life over freezer.”
This is a statement that I have heard quite often in recent times. I am just wondering - why do you prefer the shelf life variant? For what reason?

I’ve used A Baits in the past but now use Baitworks and prefer the shelf life over freezer.

In reply to Post #1 So far can recommend Baitworks Atlantic Heat shelf-life, I can't vouch for it's winter success as I only started using it from Spring but it's been very good for me, it's a soft bait with good texture, colour and spicy taste.
Not sure as to the best quality out there but these get a big thumbs up from me.

In reply to Post #1 I have been using hinders betanana for a few months now, catching a few on them as well, nice soft bait, only slight negative is that its only available in 12 and 15mm sizes

In reply to Post #1 I have used Essential baits b5 Shellfish Plum shelfies for some years now, and I have complete faith in them. But it's not a soft bait and you have to buy larger quantities to get the price down, but they have caught everywhere I have taken them.

Good mate of mine uses A bait and only fishes days.
He does very well indeed, often better than those with more time.
Carp do seem to like it for sure.

I've not used sheflife baits since the 90's when I didn't have access to a freezer and now I'm moving I am going to be in the same situation soon.
The two bait companies I use don't do sheflife and in fact both have said they won't consider it due to what goes in their bait. I didn't want to change but there isn't another way I can see.
So what shelflife baits would you recommend and which are the best quality in your opinion? Ideally a softer bait if that is possible.
One firm I have considered in the A Bait as I've heard good things about Jason and his baits
Thanks guys
