You're also making the assumption that one batch to the next of the Nash stuff will be the same, whereas in fact it will most likely differ year by year. It's a natural product influenced by many things and unless you have a very detailed data sheet you'll never know.

Same re qualities between brands, unless you have their ordering info and data sheet, or get it analysed (expensive) you'll never know.

The only way you can guarantee anything within reason is to buy a artificial product.

When making your own baits you can only do the best you can do. Every batch of everything you buy will most likely be different to the previous one as they're all natural products. Even the same batch stored for longer might have different properties.

At some point you have to bite the bullet

Like most natural products oils are available in different qualities. Think of olive oil in the supermarket - you could buy some for a fiver or pay 4 or 5 times that for first pressing etc etc.

In the days when I regularly used essential oils in home made bait I bought my oils from a reflexologist. She explained how oils from the same plant can differ both in quality and their actual components. We were sourcing unusual oils such as lavender and tangerine or mandarin, as well as more mainstream ones like geranium.

Only yesterday I was talking to my fishing mate about one particular oil and how versions of that oil contain vastly different amounts of the active ingredient. It depends which part of the plant the oil is made from.

So if you buy from a secondary source do you know what you are actually buying?

Does the strength differ between brands? I always worry that i could be overdosing or underdosing using other brands

As per ynnek, most of the fishing stuff is just the same repackaged with Carp tax. If fishing branded is your thing the Nutrabaits BPO used to be good, probably still is, and is readily available.
