Merely the tip of the iceberg!

All setup and had a chance to test the new Deeper with my boat. Found two nice spots so set my traps. 12 acre lake, 38 swans and i was fishing in 3 foot of water so the swans were constantly diving over my baited areas and picking up my hookbait. Every time i reeled in, my pop-ups were half eaten.

10 p.m. i was attached to a very large cat for a few mins until the line snapped. 6 months old 16lb Fox Excocet. 20 mins later, I am landing a 20lb'ish cat. Well, didnt actually land it as i hate them but just flipped the hook in the net and let it go.

Saturday afternoon................Check my post below regarding exploding barrow wheel.

Saturday evening im into another massive cat but this time i have managed to wipe out the guy in the next swim down to me. I literally could not stop the thing. Spat the hook and managed to sort the lines out.

Moorhen running under my lines and setting off my alarms. This went on for 2 days.

Sunday morning...................Check my post below regarding exploding barrow wheel.

Also, somehow, one of the support poles had come away from the pegging point on my bivvy but managed to MacGyver it when i got home using one of the spare washers for my Triporter!

And when i did finally mnage to drag my barrow back to the car, my key wouldnt work. Luckily, i always take a spare so all was ok in the end.

Wont be going back there!

you caught, be grateful

20 deg this weekend, it just keeps giving. Dropping off next week a bit, read in the papers there
might be a 'sting' around the bank hol but weather apps not showing it!

Was sat in t-shirt, shorts and navitas yesterday. Easterly wind is a bit harsh today.

I checked the water temperature yesterday, 13.4c and that's on water with plenty of shade. The fish are enjoying the rays and it won't be long before they've got jiggy jiggy on their minds in lots of waters.

Yeh, had plenty of infections, x-rays, steroids, inhalers, sputum tests etc. Doctors put it down to Covid jabs, never tested positive but had long Covid for 9 months. Good thing is when I need to book docs appointment, I get preferential treatment as COPD is regarded as life threatening. Luckily I'm not at that stage yet. Ex smoker as well. Also means I have to go easy on the Spiced Rum!

And I really need to test my new Deeper as had it for months and not used it yet!

I woke up to a frozen brolly and mats this morning. Now sat in glorious sunshine as I start to pack away. Weather can't make up its mind at the moment!!
