Anyone tried here, thinking of trying it for a holiday with the family.
Any feedback welcome on this place. Or an alternative to this place, with lodges, no pets (asthma sufferer), anywhere in the UK really except Cornwall, London, Essex (don't want to travel too far being a Northener

Used to love the place before it became a holiday park.
You want the superior lodge with the hot tub. I believe there is only one, it's at the end of a lovely little bay. Ali Hamidi has been there loads recently and they've been fishing the last two cabins on the main lake and doing well.
I went to the restaurant on site a few weeks back, hands down the best roast dinner I've ever eaten, and I've had a few.
There are some decent fish in that main lake now. Plenty of 20s and no doubt a few 30s too. Always said if I win a load of money I'd turn it back into a fishery and have a massive cabin fire on the field. Sold for 5.5 million last year or year before, was about 5.4 million out of my price range.

I worked at Kings Lynn power station so stayed at Woodlakes , nice place and seems well ran with plenty of big fish in the lake.
Have you looked at Wispy meadow in Thetford which isn't far from Kings Lynn WispyMeadow The only thing is they don't let under 18's stay

I heard whispers that they had an outbreak a few years back but I'm struggling to find a concrete confirmation?

It's a lovely looking place & I seem to remember them doing membership/season tickets at a very reasonable price. This could all have changed now as it was a few years back .
Hopefully someone on here will have some info!

They lost a load of fish but I don't think it turned out to be khv, the season ticket was on the championship lake, used to be about 250 but I've no idea now, bet there's some monsters in there, huge bream and tench too.

I had a walk around the championship lake a few years back & I saw quite a few chunks. It's a shame to find out that they've likely lost some of these, do we know what the problem was?

I'm not certain it wasn't khv but I know they lost a few.
The championship lake was doing 30s 20 years ago. Fairly certain it did a 40 too. When we were hauling fish around 6/8lb from the two poles lake in the mid 90s the bailiff was taking them from us and putting them in the championship lake as it was fish soup and the water levels were really low.
I fished it for a couple of years around 20 years ago, it got mega weedy soon as may/June hit, more or less unfishable but I think they may have done some weed cutting in recent years.
I'm not certain it wasn't khv but I know they lost a few.

There were several large weed beds when I had a look around. There were plenty of fishable spots though. To be honest I'm not put off by weed as my last club water was basically one big weed bed during the summer months.

When I was fishing it I used to walk round and fish the point and cast back to the road bank, I was 20 years younger and miles fitter but by god that was a long walk, before I had a barrow too.
It has suffered with poor water quality over the years so that maybe it. There was a bit of khv doing the rounds at about the same time, maybe why it was suspected. Plus people coming from all over the country anything is possible.
It is around 8 minutes from my house and a lovely lake.

It really is picturesque & that's a big part of the appeal for me these days - I must be getting old..

It's changed so much now, I still really like the place and have been going since the late 90s but it has easily over 70 lodges now. 2 poles lake has cabins, and they have started to encroach on the Championship Lake. The restaurant & bar is nice when it's open. Least you don't have to pay for electricity now. lol
Do you know if they still offer a season ticket please?
