In reply to Post #2293 Oh I agree he won't fight the same way again and will definitely try to get inside more to throw those shots. I just can't see it happening. Bivol will be expecting a better canelo for sure, and that's why he'll be better himself next time around. It should be an absolute cracker

In reply to Post #2292 I’ve already said why he didn’t thrown the left to the body. Do you think he is going to come out again and fight in exactly the same way! He has to change things. If he can get that left hand working he has a chance. He ain’t going to come out and try to out jab a man with a superior reach. Since he has gone up in weight he has changed his style with the high guard and just try’s to walk people down with power punches. He needs to feint jabs and throw jabs to get inside him to land the power shots. Look at the GGG fights, he fought him on the back for in the first and the front in the second. What your stating is a no brainier, Bivol looked superb and I will repeat, anybody would expect him to win the second on that peformance. I will say this again, it’s all down to Canelo, Bivol will have learned a bit but he ain’t going to change much from the win. Another 12 to go
As for benavidez, good fighter but he has not exactley fought any big names at the moment and he had a spilt decision against the Romanian. Lemieux next, could say benavidez is picking his fights there

In reply to Post #2291 You got the was bit right about kovalev mate. But when canelo fought him he was past his best by quite a way. He won't get near to bivol to launch the body attack. If he wants a proper challenge which makes sense the it has to be benavidez. Nobody else at the weight will really be much of a problem for canelo. But benavidez has been avoided by him for a reason

In reply to Post #2290 He destroyed Kovalev who was a proper pound for pound match for anybody, nuff said. For me though the guys at this weight are shedding to make it, probably hang around a stone or two heavier at their natural weight, Canelo is making it and fighting men much bigger than him, don’t ever say he does not like a challenge lol
Bivol used the jab to perfection, it wasn’t a stiff one from the hip it was just a continuous flicking one to manage the range and get the points win. Great boxing performance
The rematch is a real 50/50 and any betting man would put his money on Bivol based on the last fight, once you have somebody’s number you could probably fight them 10 times and win. The second fight will be all about how Canelo adapts. Full body work out on Bivol and he would be out of there for me. Like I said though, Canelo didn’t want to let the left go, that could be down to Bivol right, hardly thrown but ready to counter. It’s the test of a real champion this, how he comes back, Bivol got the points, not the knockout. I think Canelo was more frustrated than beat up.

In reply to Post #2289 You think he will win the rematch? It wasn't even close ? The scorecards were a joke, far too close . I think bivol wins again, and quite comfortably too. Canelo just isn't naturally big enough to deal with the size guys up at lhw. And the talk of going up again to hw is comical. He'd have no chance against the big boys. Not the decent ones anyway. The way he's going up and up in weight I'm surprised he hasn't tested positve for peds again
Just read bivol wants the rematch at super middle, closer to canelos natural weight class ,just to prove he's better

In reply to Post #2288 I think the Bivol rematch will seal his fate as the pound for pound king in that division, for me, he ain’t naturally that big, another tuff and testing fight that

In reply to Post #2287 I mean cherry picked in the way that he saw bivol as the easiest title holder in the lhw division mate. Some of his opponents have been questionable ,certainly cherry picked. Rocky fielding being prime example. Amir khan another. Maybe he got over confident because of the kovalev fight for going up again? Even that fight he could have made a year or 2 earlier rather than waiting until he saw kovalev on the slide .Hell of a fighter don't get me wrong, just seems to me he does avoid a few people. He's got a lot of miles on the clock even though he's only 31, I wonder how long he can keep it up because I can't see him being one to carry on until he starts to slip too far

In reply to Post #2286 Interesting thoughts mate. Cherry picking Bivol? He is a future / now pound for pounder if ever I have seen one, unbeaten and looking for a step up the ladder, hardly cherry picked, I would say peaking at his prime unless you think he took it before he peaked?
One thing I like about Canelo, he openly states he wants to fight the best all the time, Mark of a true fighter for me that

In reply to Post #2285 He was humble in the ring mate yes. But he now reckons he only lost 3 rounds!!!! I'd say that's all he won. He tried to cherry pick another belt and it backfired .
I think he'll deal with charlo fairly comfortably but benavidez won't be a pushover and canelo knows that, that's why he's been avoiding him for the last couple of years

In reply to Post #2284 I think Canelo will blow those two away quite easily, hope they happen!
Bivol got the job done, quick flicking jab to keep him off balance and out of range. Brilliant game plan, boxed him beautifully, dictated the distance and kept that right hand guard glued to his face all night. Brilliant performance.
If there is a rematch it will be interesting. Bivol was asking for the left to the body all night and Canelo hardly threw it, if he had he might have taken a Bivol right
To be fair, I think in Canelos last few fights he has been so confident he just thinks he can walk people down and eventually he will land the killer shot. Not against Bivol on the night. To be fair I expected him to switch it about a bit but he didn’t. Respect though, humble in defeat, best man won on the night is what he said in the ring

In reply to Post #2283 There will be. Canelo thinks he won
Better to rematch and have the excuses ready (too big, stamina etc etc) than face the threats of charlo and benavidez at his own weight class where he would have to admit losing to the better man . Don't get me wrong canelo is a great fighter, but he's been protected over the years and done a hell of a lot of cherry picking

Bivol, unanimous decision
Said below it was a dangerous fight for Canelo, Bivol is a solid boxer. Wonder if there will be a rematch?

Enjoy fight fans
A master class
Who sad he was just a puncher, watch the footwork and the movement, plus the defence, incredible

In reply to Post #2280 Top man Gerry
Fishing tomorrow, early, so bed for me zzzzzzzzz, saying that, might catch the end on 5 live
Tricky one to predict. If I was a betting man my money would be on Canello, for me he either blows him away and shows his class or it goes to the later rounds
Has the potential to be a cracker if Bivol is on the top of his game, and he certainly needs to be!!!
