it is round but the edge of it is quite sharp, you need to be mega careful and make sure the braid tucks behind the clip and don't rub round the outside of it

I bought one off the back of the £50 comment and already owning affinity mk1s, I spooled up today with 28lb braid. I didn't notice any issue when spooling up but it has me worries when i use them on my next outing, i'll definitely be cautious.

Is it not a circular clip like the MK3 affinity fishing reels?

I bought 3 penn vantage 7000’s from TFT recently, spooled the first one up popped the line under the line clip and I couldn’t believe how sharp the clip was. Tried all three reels and ended up sending them back for a refund.
All three clips basically cut about a 1/3 of the way through the line making the clip absolutely no use whatsoever, I tried backing the clip off with powergum but that didn’t help either.

anyone use these,I've used mi e this weekend and the line clip edge is really sharp...you have to be so careful when putting it round the line clip as it frayed my braid this weekend.
I had to be really careful when putting it round the clip
