What boilies have you lads been using and doing well on there?

In reply to Post #42 Nice one mate. What baiting tactics do you usually use? Was thinking boilie and pellet, usually use nut mix boilies but happy to change to what works out there. Pop-ups, bottom baits etc?

In reply to Post #27 I am booked up for my first visit at the end of August. I need as much advice as possible please (bait, swims ect ect)

In reply to Post #26 The lodge is really nice, it does come with its own swim at the dam end of the lake so you get a long margin and island to fish to but I think you can also go into the draw
Best ask mark directly to confirm
In reply to Post #25 Thinking of booking here myself, has anyone seen or used the lodge?
I can see its down the deep end of the lake, might be a bit restricted there not sure though.

In reply to Post #24 Mid June you probably want to get down the shallow end of the lake if you can however I’d still walk around and find the fish firstly

In reply to Post #17 Cheers mate that would be great

In reply to Post #14 I managed to get over during the winter lockdown and swims were being rebuilt when I was there, out of oak no less, so they are looking fabulous
Went out the year before last in sept/oct and had a great week even though there were only 5 on due to travel restrictions
The lake is looking superb and the fish are back to being in mint condition. I’ve booked again for this year so book with confidence.
Out there in October so fingers crossed for one of those impressive commons mark has grown on in there

In reply to Post #11 As stated Mark recognised the biomass was being impacted by the silvers several years back and having been to Le Fays personally around 8 times i witnessed on the last few visits the netting of tonnes of silvers which has i believe continued until the situation was resolved. I think most forum members will have seen the public spat that went on quite a few years ago on here which may be the posts you are referring to but wouldn't help any people trying to glean information on the fishing there. I think i've commented several times on the fact that Le Fays has gone through a bit of a cycle as a lot of lakes do after the death of several big fish that alot of past visitors will remember and the new wave of big fish are now coming through. There are half a dozen or so big 60 commons, with at least one tipping over 70 and 60lb plus mirrors now coming through. Having not been for a few years myself, it is certainly back on my radar and as mentioned, the swims have been painstakingly rebuilt to a very high standard as can be seen on the Facebook pages i believe.

My 2 mates are currently fishing their now having just done 2 weeks and they’ve had 18 fish up to 69lb and go about 3 times every year and they’ve said that 95% of the nuisance fish have been removed and have both the big cats to give the chance for the carp to grow and they certainly are doing just that.A lot of the pegs have been rebuilt to a very high standard also.

In reply to Post #11 I can assure you that Mark has worked tirelessly over recent years to bring Le Fays back to its very best. Nuisance fish gone and current stock big and getting bigger by the day. Top venue.

In reply to Post #1 What I would ask is where are all the previous posts gone about Etang Le Fay’s ??
There was loads of posts on the Carpforum previously and when you consider Mark has run this lake probably for over 20 years, why is there only this link on here now?
I haven't fish Fays for 5 years, but it did need some work on the carp & thousands of nuisance fish that were in there, you couldn't keep bait in the water long before the nuisance fish had mopped all your freebies up!!
Having said that, if as Yidboy, post 4 states it has improved, then good news?

In reply to Post #9 Look up Mark Eldridge on FB and send him a PM and ask for the catch report. He normally updates the FB page regularly. Mark will happily help if you ask him.

Evening, heading here in a few weeks. I’ve seen from Instagram a few fish have been coming out.
I can’t seem to find anything else though? Anyone been and know of any info?
In reply to Post #7 Thanks for the reply.
Would you say it’s a hard venue?
A few of us are going and it would be nice to land a few.

In reply to Post #6 I’ve fished Le Fay’s last sept and November and love the place
Lovely setting, impeccable swims and some big fish to go at. Micheal provides a great menu and Mark knows his lake and will provide help if required
As has already been said the lake can be a challenge but it can also fish its socks off if you are lucky enough to hit it at the right time
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this venue and I’ve fished a lot of venues over the years
Already booked for next October as I’d like one of those big commons that seem to be piling on the weight
Book with confidence

In reply to Post #5 Check out his Facebook page. Fishing has been really good this season with some real lunkers gracing the net.

Evening,
Has anyone been lately? Looking at booking for next year. All I can find is old reviews?
Thanks
In reply to Post #1 Le Fays is heading back to former glories and now has a good head of 60 commons. The challenge for the venue in my opion is matching the big head of fish it had between 40 and 60 in the past. Mark may disagree but i keep an eye on catch reports which are producing mutiple catches weekly. I've fished the venue on 6 occasions and as said the food and set up are excellent. Will definitely be back one day

In reply to Post #2 Thanks
