Although we never met face to face, we got on so well, we often communicated with each other over messenger, FB, etc.
Our last little 'chat' was just over a week or so ago, he was fading fast but was still the old Gerry we all knew and loved, he had asked someone to buy a few bird feeders and fat balls so he could watch the birds feeding through the window at the hospice he was in.
RIP me old mate, we'll all miss ya, but you have left us with some very fond memories.

I spent some time last night creating the 'Linky Poo' code to help people put links into their posts.
If you are on a PC you will need to do Control-F5 to force a refresh of the cache (otherwise the old weblink code will still be used)
Once done, if you wanted to link to something you enter the web address
e.g.
http://www.ford.com
Then completely select the web address and hit the >> button to the left where it says Web Link.
This should then take your web address, make it into a link, and prefix the link with LINKY POO™
e.g.

I've only just seen this, I don't tend to look at the top of the pages.

Knew OG only had a short time left, but even so its a bit of a shock to hear he has passed away..he was a massive contributor to this & the old Cemex forum where iirc he was less ' constrained' than on here !! I went fishing at my local club water the last few days.
Personal issues had meant first time in 2 years.
Having a beer and pottering around the swim Last night it occurred to me.
That I was using the Nitecore headtorch that he recommended.
I had cooked on he stove he recommended about 20 years ago
I weighed my fish using the Tripod he recommended to me.
And I slept on the shiitest bedchair I've ever had in my days.
Oh well O.G can't win them all.

First have a trip to Belgium 🇧🇪 with a mat I also purchased from him .
He cost and saved me a fortune in the time I knew him .
Met him personally a few times a true character that are disappearing from our beloved pastime .
Couldn't imagine Gerry shouting “ get on the twg and spomb the granny out of it “

So sad, had a good few pm's with Martin over the years. RIP
And does anyone know how Ken Townley is getting on, he wasn't too well last I heard but hopefully recovering well.

Been a member of this Forum for Years, as is often the way with hobbies I have drifted in and out of Carp fishing and in turn this forum.
Found my Carp Fishing spark again after my young son has shown an interest.

Been a good while since I’ve been back on here, busy with family life and businesses
Gutted to read this, Old Geezer was a great chap and his passion for fishing and helping others and especially me 😊
Sold him a Honda silent generator, came all way down to Weston super mare to collect it crazy sod after work at airport too if I can remember was long time ago!!
Hope his still dangling a line up in the sky 💪💪
