In my youth many of the old guys in the tweed brigade carried hip flasks and all were anti full stainless and most hip flasks then were glass with a removable stainless base as Nd the upper coated in leather.

I only drink tea, hate coffee and am a massive snob regards cups.
Ideally for me would be the simple home mug, it holds just the right amount of water and feels comfortable to drink from, but could break mid session which would be a disaster on the scale of a Russian nuke so have travelled through a myriad of Carpy cups
Ridge Monkey plastic thing - it's like being 4 again drinking from a sippy cup - hold far to much water, goes from hotter than the sun for 10 mins to ice in the next 30 seconds, horrid on the lips.
Titanium - right size but horrid on the lips and goes cold by the time you stir the poxy thing.
Stainless - bearable but just a little on the small side.
Yeti (I assume stainless also) has been with me the past 18 months and it is my current favoured choice. I only fill 3/4, keeps drinks hot for just long enough and is ok to drink from - it was also far too expensive for what it is (birthday present) so was reassuringly expensive.
Maybe on my new paywall channel I will create a sub channel called pubchucking drinking vessels as a £5 bolt on.

Did a little googling on that last night, seems stainless hip flasks were very much frowned upon at first but it seems to be agreed it was a bit of a myth. Given so many alcoholic beverages are made/aged in steel it's hard to imagine it to be anything but a myth.

Its a win win situation, isn't it.. it was only a while back that I realised t bags were made of plastic. I wonder how much research has gone into finding out how much of that ends up in your body..

My mate Dean was the dirtiest sod ever on the banks of the Ebro you always took your own mug to his swim as he just used to swill the cups out in the river which was @ times 1 up from a cesspit of bacteria ...he did 2yrs living on the bank and never had a bad stomach !!!!!
just a shame couldn't be said for the poor idiots who went into his swim for a cuppa and some inside knowledge on how the river was fishing we used to sit there laughing thinking you wont be fishing tomorrow mate sometimes it was hard to keep a straight face when he said it was Segra tea...he now makes a comfortable living working for a medicinal company as basically a human guinea pig testing drugs ...true story

There's only a few companies that make plastic free tea bags, clipper is one., I wasn't keen on the one I tried and the bags aren't cheap which is why its not been adopted mainstream
Fairly sure there was a study recently that showed 6000 microplastic particles per bag.
There was also a article showing microplastics in various Pacific sourced fish cell nucleus!
And worse still a article linking lung cancer in none smoking 20 year old with their lungs illuminated like a bright city at night from above, under scanning. The same is showing up in the massive rise of colon cancer in the younger generations.
It's believed they leak chemicals into the cell nucleus and it alters/damages the dna causing mutations ie, cancer.

Used to work with a bloke who had a white mug and drank black tea, his mug never got washed and by the time he retired the inside was coated in about 3mm of what looked like black limescale. It stopped anyone pinching his mug.
