V true, and sometimes with the old baitrunners gt gte re ...etc, a standard service and a few new washers isn't enough to notice any real improvement in performance.

Pricing can be tricky, because you’ll pay a flat fee for the service but any parts needed are charged extra and you won’t know till they do the work.

I had a thing with the old shimano baitrunners, (I'm over it now) wasted too much money having them serviced etc, only for something else to fail months later.
Used Felindre and to be honest, the reels felt no different, guess at 25/30 years old they are just totally worn out and knackered.
Lesson learnt.

Had a bit of a long-running saga with them over a set of reels where a fault kept recurring. Wasn’t a good experience from my side.

I do accept that they have a good reputation among others and that maybe I was unlucky. They were certainly organised and had a fast turnaround.

Ive had 3 sets of reels serviced by Felindre and all been perfection I have found him to be the most helpful guy going if I have ever phoned
while he is definitely not the cheapest I know the parts if available he will be the one to have them and I am sure Shimano did not have him as their main service agent for nothing
you are the 1st person I have heard of thats not been happy ? and his Dragon washers transform a good drag into an awesome Drag !

Any feedback on Felindre would be good as I’ve a couple of 6010’s and one’s got a bent spindle.

There’s good and bad experiences as with everything but if you want to avoid them it would be good to know why for other potential users if you willing to disclose.

Obviously any feedback would be constructive 😉

Could also try Nick at Reeltech. He seems to do most makes/models and did an excellent job on my shimano’s.

Hiya, can anyone recommend somewhere who might service a pair of old Shimano 8010s? Anti reverse is slipping on one, and the Baitrunner adjustment isn’t working right on the other. The reels have sentimental value, so would rather fix than replace. Thanks in advance, Will

EDIT: Meant to say, suggestions other than Felindre would be great. Not had good service from them in the past and would prefer to avoid even if they’re the obvious choice.
