In reply to Post #1 I agree with Noj, a Shimano in 2500 or 4000 size is perfect. My son has the DL version (Was a hand me down from me as I used it on my 7ft stalking rod). Whilst I'm more open minded on big pit reels I do strongly believe that if you want a bait runner you cannot beat Shimano

In reply to Post #3 I bought an Okuma Pulsar 4000 a while ago to go with an Avon rod, haven't actually used it yet, but seems decent for the money.

In reply to Post #1 Have a look at the Okuma ones, I got my youngest an Okuma Dyna Drag XP in size 6000 recently and they're pretty decent. You probably need a 4000 size. Was 30 odd quid I think.

In reply to Post #1 Shimano st2500 or 4000. I wouldn’t even bother looking at another brand unless it’s an infinity x which won’t be much good for 4lb line and a float rod

As title says looking for small baitrunner type reel for kids. Something small but with a baitrunner drag that can be used for float or ledger etc
Any recommendations?
Thanks
