In reply to Post #1 My misses bought me a top of the range Dometic 41L ACX 40G (3 way) last year which works on £2 camping gas cartridges.
The first time I fired it up it packed in. I thought it was me. I must have spent hours messing about with it. In the end I phoned up the retailer and they took it back. All confidence evaporated I decided to sack it off and got a refund. £325.
Anyway I got through last year with a 28L Coleman Extreme coolbox, but this year I treated myself to a 40L Icey-Tek cube coolbox which I understand will keep the contents frozen or near as for 5 days. Under £150 with a 15% off code.
Should keep the beer chilled

In reply to Post #8 Have Dometic for 10 years, works on 220, 12 and gas... I run it on 5 or 9kg bottle, works great just needs to be leveled properly.

In reply to Post #1 I have had a Dometec fridge for 2 years, no problems so far, I only run it on the small butane gas cylinders which you can get for about £1.35 if you buy in large quantities (Ebay).

brilliant fridges, run off 12V car charger when travelling and then gas once lakeside. Use mine on 2-4 week trips with large gas bottle and is perfect.

In reply to Post #3 Anyone got a link to these to see how much they are per canister as we are only
driving through France so would need to purchase here.
I’m not sure which I am looking for?

In reply to Post #2 Agreed, Dometec is a great bit of kit and you can get the cannister for a chain of shops in France for around 1.5 Euros!

In reply to Post #1 I can highly recommend the Dometic Combicool ACX3 40.It’s what I take to France and 1 little gas cylinder last for about 36 hours on full and keeps all you food either frozen on full wack or chilled on half power.

Can anyone recommend a good 3 way fridge that can be run on gas for foreign trips. It’s just to keep food cool so we don’t need to go to the shop every day.
Will look to pick one up second hand as on a budget but would like some names of ones that people have used and work?
Thanks
