In reply to Post #2 This is exactly what I was trying to describe thanks, wonder what people think of using that instead of a blowback ring etc on a combi/ strip coated type thing

In reply to Post #1 Joe Morgan uses as you describe in solid bags. He's shown it a few times in his Carp Angle videos. Sorry can't remember which episode.

Hi all, been tying up and using blowback style rigs for a while on Combis and in bags. Standard rig ring and hair. Does anyone just use a micro ring swivel and bead instead (as with the german/Ronnie etc) this is for balanced baits by the way.
I don't usually tie my hairs that long so the separation difference really isn't much at all. The reason I'm asking is it takes me a hell of a lot less time and material to just use the swivel and bead option and by the looks of it the mechanics will be very similar. One thing I do believe is that the microswivel option may not reset as well, however I on a carp inhaling a bait, it will basically reset as it lifts of the deck bait first.
Have also used the slip D option which definitely gives more movement and separation with the sacrifice of more prone to soft D tangles, on the cast fine with pva but can tangle with rejections and nuisance fish pickups. Thoughts very welcome
