Had the same problem, with the Turbo German. All 3 in the packet broke at the hook end fusion when I pulled tight to straighten the boom. Emailed Gemini but no reply which I'm surprised about.

Had some 16” ones delivered last week for Barbel combi rigs, they look great quality. However, I also ordered some low level ronnie’s which weren’t in the packaging (no damage so they’d obviously been missed off the order). Emailed Gemini twice and haven’t had a reply. It’s only a few quid but that’s not the point.

No I was using the German rig as supplied with a tungsten anti tangle sleeve
When I wound in all that was left was the anti tangle sleeve
But on closer inspection there was the two halves of the fused ferrule in the sleeve
I have been using the booms for over a year with no issues previously
I then decided to do a pull test on the other booms I had and with hardly any effort 4 parted at the fused ferrule
Having now lost all confidence in the booms they all went in the bin
Just wanting to make others aware of the problem I had

Is this a tungsten sleeve you have added? As far I am aware the gemini tidy booms are pure fluorocarbon with a fused loop at each end, one loop holding a swivel. Not sure what you mean by a ferrule. It is surprising to hear of problems with this product. A lot of people including me are using them regularly with no issues.

Been using them for over a year with no issues until yesterday
Was playing a fish when I thought at first it had come off
When I reeled in all that was left was the tungsten sleeve.
On inspection of the sleeve the two halves of the fused ferrule were still in the sleeve
I decided to check the other Gemini booms and using two line hook pullers without any real tension 4 out off the eleven I had, snapped at the ferrule = definitely a lot less that the 30 lb stated
Now all booms are in the bin -
Yes I could contact Gemini - yes it could be a bad batch - but even if they were replaced I no longer have any confidence in them
Only posting this for others to check any they have
Gutted at not only loosing the fish but also the fish now has a hook, ronnie and boom to deal with

I went for a Ronnie swivel with a loop....my chod section is crimped so I just slide a gardner tungsten chod sleeve over everything.

I'd go for the ring swivel size 11 no loop personally. Same as crimping a ring swivel tight to ring using korda boom. Non custom its the 360 rig ones

I want to use these for the shr, but I want to be able to change to chod section...would the German rig booms be suitable with heat shrink over the swivel??
which swivel did you choose on the end of your custom booms??

I have been using these a while now and am very impressed. I have just received some custom 12" ones to use on a stiff hinge rig and they are very nice indeed...

Just received my custom ones and I am really impressed. Obviously time will tell but early signs are good. I’m actually excited to get on the bank and use these
