I use the leeda bass bag for weighing most of the smaller species I fish for. Not used it for chub but I would imagine it will be fine. Only £5.

A wet carrier bag is fine if the fish fits in at the bottom horizontally. You would need a wide carrier bag for a large chub and especially a barbel.

I tend to use a large, decent quality carrier for chub and smaller, but do carry a sling in case any bigger comes along.

Do you guys use a sling or just a carrier bag etc? I have done mine in the net then just weighed the net as I can’t seem to find a small sling.
