In reply to Post #26 Thanks for the detailed reply.
The bait screws attract me to an RT4 as much as anything but I'm sure I can do without one.
I was thinkging the TF740 was yesterdays technology so may get raymarine pro5 and x pilot fitted (obviously not via TFT). But sometimes keeping it simple isn't a bad thing so nice to hear you like the TF740 unit.
Not going to order until early next year in readiness for the next season. Too easy to get carried away getting a high spec that is too high for my needs.

In reply to Post #26 Hang on a minute…that appeared to be a balanced, non biased review of two products based on actual user experience.

In reply to Post #25 I doubt you will go far wrong with either boat if I am honest, I have had both an RT4 and an Xboat, sold the RT last year when I was briefly out of work. Things changed work wise so I took a punt on an Xboat which I am more than happy with, in fact if I am honest I prefer it to the RT as that had a niggly fault in the two years I had it where it would lose signal intermittently, CL never could get to the bottom of it. Had the Wifish that was really good, cant comment on the newer element. The Xboat however has the Toslon 740, which I absolutely love, I did consider swapping it out for a Raymarine set up but It does all I want it to do, very accurate gps and the autopilot works a treat. Pros for thr RT slightly smaller boat, possibly a tad quicker but a great looking boat, cons were the fault I described and also a pain to control at slower speeds, and noisy (Had the top end motors)
Xboat pros, it just works great. well put together. Cons? It is a bigger boat and not too keen on battery covers.

In reply to Post #23 Sent my rt4 back twice for upgrades both times took around 3 weeks .Had rt4s for years prob about 6 never had anything go wrong apart from my first set up where I had 3 tolson 640s due to faults .Was never that happy with it especially the navigation side of it as it was **** .Mate has a top of range tolson set up and it's **** compared to the rt4 it really is .Only had my v4 a couple of weeks and as expected spot on especially the brilliant autopilot

With the UK shop now open, can they repair and upgrade them or is it just for sales?
I'm wanting an RT4 but now leaning to an X boat because of the better reliability and after-sales support.
I was speaking with a guy on my syndicate at the weekend, when his RT4 had issues, it had to go back to germany and took 4 months to sort out, incredible.

In reply to Post #20 The north West rt4 forum also has had people from carploumge demanding posts be removed some of which were true but it's nowhere near as bad as the other one .But apart from that it's streets ahead of any other boat and personally had over 5 years use trouble free .Baitboat forums are awash with liars making things up about the rt4 these range from jealous people to people associated with or friends of other company's .Every week there is somebody claiming to have sent 1 back and they usually name a decrepid piece of chite they now own being a much better boat ,they are so easy to see through .

In reply to Post #16 Doesn’t matter where I’ve got my facts from Rowan. All that matters is you’ve confirmed my facts albeit saying only 1 boat has been sent back. The rest is my opinion and thankfully on here you don’t get banned for having an opinion like your Facebook group. Hence why another Fb group has been set up.

I’ve not had any issues with mine apart from user error. Now I’m getting to grips with it all it’s dead easy to use.
