Likewise, got back late last night; I reused my wife's day 2 test reference number from when she travelled a bit in August& September, no problems. No need to keep paying out £40 for this test kit, if anyone wants a code for a tenner pm me..

We booked our tests with Expert Medicals and received the test kits two days after the booking was made. We also used them in September this year and the procedure was faultless.

They have not been shut down by the Government, they have just been removed from the approved list.

I am currently in France and will be using mine upon return to the UK this weekend.

That’s right Mark keep your 2 day code for passenger locator form .
2 day test , carry out at home and you can arrange a courier or 24hr Royal Mail secure tracked delivery .
Option 3 delivery to Lab but that’s too far away from you .

I purchased two antigen tests yesterday from C19, and a day 2 test from NWP. Should be here this week.

So I have to just keep the day 2 test reference number to fill in the form when returning to the UK?

Do I actually have to go somewhere and take that day 2 test after returning to the UK, or is it done from home/online like the antigen?

TIA.

For anyone ordering, i had same experience as Scar, ordered mine yesterday, got the all important ref number within a few minutes and the kit has arrived today - expert medical £28

I would guess looking at the reviews dates they couldnt keep up with demand during the holiday season!

I wouldn't.
If there's a chance, even if it's only a slim chance I'd worry about getting caught.
Too many chancers about and they seem to get away with it, sod's law if you or I done it we'd be the ones to get caught.
Talking of chances there's a good chance they'll scrap the test when the government make their next announcement anyway.

That's useful mate; my Mrs was abroad recently and has a ref number (and test kit sitting in a drawer somewhere) so it may be possible to use this ref number? I'm not inclined to waste £48 unnecessarily..

The theory in it is that the companies who test you upload the tested reference numbers & results to a government website which then cross references them against the locator form inputs. Its how they would track you if you tested positive. So if you don't take the test they will still know you have not followed the rules.

if the government has the will or resources to track everyone down is a totally different question.

I do know two lads who came and tried to blag there way through on the ferry and were knocked back however until they did the locator forms properly and order the 2 day tests

I used Randox. Didn't realise you had to send it back using a dropbox, that was a slight inconvenience, the dropbox was filled to the brim with other test kits but it got there ok, got the result back next day

Not so easy for my friends who are in Lowestoft, their nearest dropbox was 25 miles away. So rather make the return journey an additional cost to them to send it using a next day delivery service.

Yeah they will track you if you test positive. Hence all the questions on when buying the test and doing locator form.

I used a Randox test after recommendation on here, as i came back last Saturday. Must say it was smooth and hassle free compared to some of the other lads i went with who used other companies.

So you get back home and you do the 2 day PCR test. The result comes back as negative.
Do you have to tell someone anyone of the result?

Going from my earlier post we actually had to go to the local chemist in the end to have our test.

We paid the €26 and 20 minutes later our test came through and they printed off all the relevant paper work/results for us 👍

Like Ken said very easy process so no need to worry

UPDATE: We jumped through all the required hoops and used C19 Testing (Co-Op) for the pre-departure (from France). Our self-test results came through 6 hours later. We used Expert Medical test certificate numbers on the Passenger Locator form and have just done their Day 2 self test.

On arrival in Plymouth we were nearly the last car off the ship (Pont Aven), which was very busy. Expecting to be held up for at least two hours, we were off the ship, through the Border Force control booths and on our way back home within 45 minutes.

At Border Control, they asked only for our passports - none of the three forms were requested. The Border Force officer told us that all the required details - vaccine certificate, pre-departure test results and Day 2 tests were visible on their system. This would account for the speed with which we were cleared through Customs/Border Force.

Everything went like clockwork with no hold-ups or hassle of any kind.

While in France we made free with local hospitality - bars and restaurants - and in each case our UK vaccination certificates were acceptable in place of the French Pass Sanitaire.

In short, if any of you are concerned at the amount of red tape we apparently have to conform to, don't be! As long as you have done what is required of you everything will go smoothly.

(Of course, things may change after 4th October or if winter brings more Covid cases, but with the UK being 3rd on the John Hopkins scale of Covid cases and France being 11th with fewer than 24% of our number of daily cases, it can surely only go one way.)

Have fun...We did!

Eventually, everything worked out ok. Apart from you can't ever speak to them or get a reply by whatever means. It all worked and I got my day 2 test back 72 hrs after sending it. Hopefully for next year (already booked for 2022 & 2023 all this crap will be gone. Why you have to have a day 2 test when you have one just before you leave is beyond me.

Try testingforall. org. Ordered an antibody test on Thursday, test arrived first post Friday, did test and posted it back same day, received texted results Saturday evening. £49.That's on a bank holiday weekend.
The Web site says they do a 2day/8day test package at £89.
Not the cheapest but with that service maybe worth a look.

You won't be allowed to travel back and will have to isolate in France.

You won't be allowed to travel back until after the 10 day isolation AND then get a negative result

£20. With a 4hr drive in morning slot.
Warrington Area
Two of my neighbours used this testing site on Tuesday on returning from Corfu. Tested mid morning got results 9.30pm.
They gave me very positive feedback, only hassle was internet signal.

Why do you need the test result. In fact why do you need to even send the 2 day test off. All you need is the code to put on the locator form.

Ordered from Expert Medical over a week ago, got an invoice with the order number on it and a DPD delivery number. All it say is that it has been ordered on DPD but not received parcel. I have emailed, sent a contact form and rung them over 25 times but all I get the busy signal. Not too impressed so far, so be warned. I guess as long as I have the invoice I can enter that on the locator form.

I returned from France on the 15th Aug and booked a test got it via the post and set it off and got a clear result back.

what a waste of time IMO just a way of taxing you, I have heard nothing for the passage locator form, next got asked for my result.

they did check my passenger locator from at the tunnel and checked my covid test I got in france, but the 2 day test is a con if you ask me. you have to book a test and enter the number to be able to fill out the online form

Ken I tried to use Chrome and Firefox on my pc and couldn't find the tick box to get past that stage. I used chrome in my mobile and it worked a treat. Give that a go 👍

So which testing center is everybody using. I have tried countless time at Expert Medical but cannot get past the first page for registration saying 'must accept terms etc'.

Any other cheap and efficient sites?
