In reply to Post #20 Yes it really has turned to s##t
I never wanted to become one of those ‘in the old days’ types but I guess it does come with age, but carp fishing generally attracts a certain type of person.
It’s not all, but it would seem a large percentage of today’s carp anglers have no idea what a waggler is but do seem to have an in-depth knowledge on spombs and calling one another ‘bruv’
Unfortunately I think this is it to stay, you either have to put up with it and try and find a quiet lake or syndicate or take up another form of fishing.

In reply to Post #22 I don't get it mate, you can't even blame kids as Facebook is an old people's website to those under 25

In reply to Post #20 Noticed it all going off the rails about 6-7 years ago, I’m not on any social media platform and never will be, but the best description I've heard for what the likes of Face book have become is “Moron Magnets”
This is an excerpt of the rules off a private forum I’m a moderator on.
Welcome to the Forum, please remember this is a totally private Forum and respect member’s privacy accordingly.
It will be moderated to a high degree, any “Face book” attitudes or posts will be instantly removed – no exceptions.
Please do not ask when people are fishing on any lake, its private business – if a member wants to tell people when they are on they will do it themselves, please respect this.
The same applies to catch reports - if a member wants to post their catches it's totally their prerogative, so don't expect members to or even bother asking them to.

In reply to Post #21 Odd isn’t it. Do you think it’s their own insecurities or are they genuinely arrogant and think everyone should be impressed with their superior knowledge?

In reply to Post #20 Tbh I've fished a couple of day tickets quite regularly over the past few years, most people you meet are decent. Face book is the problem, people will say **** on there they never would in real life, and others will quickly jump on it
I had it a while back, caught a pretty special one while playing with an advanced flash technique that kills reflections. After about a hundred posts calling me a c*** for letting the fish dry out I'd had enough
Good luck explaining cross polarized lighting to the angry mob

Ahh the joys of facebook
Could be worse tho, talking to a guy a while back, put some stuff on there"free for a kid" and got labelled a nonce when he wouldn't give it to a prolific tackle trader

In reply to Post #9 Perhaps
If you think ‘golf weekends’ don’t involve weed, coke and hookers I do admire your innocence

In reply to Post #10 Have to admit I’m questioning myself now. On the plus side it seems the bivvy might have sold so every cloud and all that.......
