Jeez, not sure how you know who is and who isnt furloughed, but I'm sure most would want to be working, and those who arent probably got a very uncertain future ahead, personally I would cut anyone who is still on furlough abit of slack

How lucky these furloughed blokes are. All summer ahead free to go fishing. Such a shame furlough has been extended . They should do the decent thing and not fish weekends.
I guess we’ll have to wait until next year for quieter banks when those who jobs won’t exist when furlough ends can’t afford to go fishing as much

Had great start to the day today managed a small mirror around 17lb at 04.30 this morning followed up by a 27lb common at 11.00 both from the margins. A few new members have turned up today but still only seven of us on a 20 acre lake.

I got my lake around 4pm and there is only four of us on tonight. I think it's the day ticket lakes that will be the bad ones. I can just imagine how rammed they are at the moment.

Did my bailiff duties Monday pm on the syndicate.
A total of 4 members over two lakes, 3 on one of them.

Could be a bit different this weekend as new members for 21/22 can start fishing.

Five on my club lake first night three the second night pretty rammed out considering its on 40 odd acres of water

Not one angler on my other three syndicates, one other syndicate lake but I don't know about that one haven't caught up with anyone on there yet I would imagine there were a few on.

Quiet waters won’t stay that way if people shout about them, it can take years not months to get yourself sorted. Just stick with it and meet people, eventually things will fall into place.

Could you list some decent quiet waters please? I've been looking for 6 months and can't find anything. Christ, even St Ives which is a mind bending water is 100% full this year and its hasn't been full for ages.

There won't be any 'quiet waters until 2022 when furlough is dead and buried.

Embryo waters have decent controlled numbers but most have LONG waiting lists. So these waters you mentioned?

I hear your pain. I'm paying a wedge for 2 syndicates and am avoiding them at the moment. Fishing to me is about escaping the rat race.....however, quiet fishing is still possible it just needs effort and will result in your catch rate plummeting. I was out last night, didn't see a soul, oh....and blanked😁

Said yesterday I’m close to just selling all my tackle and calling it a day,the state of these lakes is shocking far too many anglers now not enough lakes it’s not enjoyable anymore,I fish mid week used to be quiet it now Seems it’s just the same all week, was meant to be out today for 2 nights woke up 5am turned my alarm off and went back to sleep. My hope is after these 2 weeks half term holidays things get a little better but I don’t hold much hope 🤷🏻‍♂️

Couldn’t agree more. If all lakes turned into these “Circus” waters, with the “How long you here for mate?” questions every 2 minutes, I will definitely be hanging my rods up forever. I go fishing to get away from people, not to have them Bivvy up behind me! 😩🔫

Just get on with it people I don't understand all these questions etc

I think what we do is very different from camping in the Govs eyes and that's why it is allowed. There is a huge difference between blokes sleeping in bivvies yards apart on their own, to a campsite full of families with communal shower blocks, bars and onsite shops.

haha oh here we go again! This was covered last time we came out of lockdown. If people don't want to go fishing because they want to class it as camping and not fishing then crack on, but dont kick up a fuss like last time and potentially spoil it for the rest who do.

If a lake doesn't want night fishing til 12th april then that's their call, but as far as whats been put out, its allowed from 29th and a lot of lakes have taken it up and rightly so.

I find it remarkable that some anglers would even raise this as an issue? After all this time in lockdown, unable to fish for part of it, they want to try and cherry pick finer details to potentially shut the door on it. Incredible

I read on a fishery website they were not allowing night fishing until the 12th April. They put a statement on stating that night fishing is only allowed so far if you are awake during the night because if you go asleep it is classed as camping which is not allowed yet. That seemed a bit strange to me but I guess it's their fishery so they can do what they like

I've always found easter to be fairly quiet on lakes actually, prob a combination of people doing stuff with their families and/or people avoiding it as they think it will be busy.

Easter is always busy, with the fair weather carp anglers dusting off their gear. This will be made twice as bad with the amount of 'newbies' who have taken up fishing whilst on furlough. My local club lake has allowed fishing throughout for local anglers and it has remained relatively quiet. Last night was like Brasenose one in the height of summer - Bivvies in every available peg and spods flying everywhere. Hopefully this will get back to normal, when the pubs open and all the furloughed staff get to work for a living again. PS. I've been lucky enough to work right through and am just starting a stint of 10 x 12 hr shifts, so will miss this madness for a while.

Its inevitably going to be busy pretty much everywhere. You cant really blame folk for wanting to get out tho. See a few slagging and bitching about it and to be honest it is what it is. Prob the same people who moan about traffic, when they are sat in it....not realising they are also contributing to that traffic.
No one has any more right to fish than anyone else.

I assume we've all seen the updated rules from the government? Or are we taking the AT on face value?

Sadly true but it is what it is. The same could be said of golf courses I expect.

I have a new friend in Hungary who likes carp fishing, I expect it will be different there

I expect so. I'm paying a lot of money for 2 syndicates and am going to neither. Unless you're very lucky, fishing in the UK = too many carp anglers and not enough water...

I think folk are just letting steam off so would not take it personally. I’ve worked from home all through this lockdown like many others. Some are unfortunate to be on furlough I hope they get back to work at some point, some have lost their jobs - whatever we have no real right to judge or cast dispersions.

We’ve all done what we’ve done of course some will think they are a little more important 😀 but hey ho.

We can go night fishing 👍🏼

No travel abroad at the moment. If you have a cancelled trip and tons of bait please remember you are fishing UK waters and don't do what happened last year.
Piling in mountains of bait just killed the fishing in many venues.
Let's enjoy ourselves and catch some fish. Good luck all.

If your working from home you’re not furloughed, and since when did an employee have a choice over being furloughed or working from home ? Sadly it’s the usual ill informed BS that we come to expect from some of the pond life on here.

"Not sure what to expect"

Put it this way, I won't be night fishing for the next four weeks. As soon as the weed picks up and all the Josephs go back to the pub i'll start doing nights. I might even treat myself to a 6ft scope for stalking considering fb marketplace will be full of them when the beer gardens open their doors.

Thats's my worry. I get there at 3am to find it full I'm too law abiding to do that.

Lot of pensioners on my syndicate so hopefully not.

Anyone think people will be going Sunday and just staying in overnight? I’m on a very well known syndicate and I’ve asked the question as I don’t wanna waste my time travelling down early on Monday only to find the lake full. I’ve had no response at all which reading between the lines tells me they don’t wanna know if people go on Sunday and stay on

Think we all know what it'll be like on the majority of waters for the next couple of weeks.

Quite obvious what to expect somewhere like bluebell. As many people as they allow to be there to be there, tons of bait flying in everywhere , utter chaos , and most likely quite underwhelming fishing
